Ok, something came to mind that I thought would be an intersting discussion.

What is your Callsign? And why?

I'm choosing "Warthawg". Yes the misspelling is intentional.

Why? It's a big, ugly and rushes into places before thinking. Kinda like me with a redneck twang. ^_^

Anybody else?

I choose the callsign Gunslinger.

First to draw, first to fire, first to kill... last to admit defeat.

I've used it in a flight simulator called Strike Fighters: Project 1 as a kid, and it's stuck with me ever since.

Wavelength is mine from a long time ago and used for many things, including my original mechwarrior identity. I haven't used it since MW Vengeance. I'm dusting it off for MWO!

I have been running with Gideon for about 14 years, now. It's a reference to a character in the Bible who faced ten or more times the number of men than he had with him, and they used loud noise from various sources to scare their opponents into thinking there were far more than even their own number. This was chosen because of the guile used by Gideon to defeat his enemies.

I've also used Afterburner and Burnie in the past, when I was much younger, based on how much I liked Top Gun.

Well, that's correct, but the OP is asking about the personal name you've either chosen or was given to you, and what it means. The name you've chosen to register on here with may, or may not, be your call sign.

Good explination. Tuborn, imagine if you're a mechwarrior, what would you hear yourself called over the radio? A short, identifier. Like mine would be Warthawg if we were talking on the battlefield.

Its fun to hear what people refer to themselves as well.

Hay there Warthawg. Nice call sign - very tough sounding & dependable!!

I chose Pave Low as a reference to an ancient Terran flying machine.

The Jolly Green Giant as it used to be called. (Medium lift helicopter)

It too was dependable and tough in its day!!

I originally ran with Casadune, because my life was like a house on shifting sand back in the day. Now I run with Casaido, A strong House than can with stand the test of time.

Havoc

I was dubbed such by my first commander in Gray Death Legion after trouncing him several times in a one on one match in Mechwarrior 3. Stock Orion Battlemech (me) Vs. a stock Avatar Omnimech (I want to say the prime alt, can't remember.) Very fun matchup and he put up a great fight. He just didn't realize that the Orion had armor equivalent to most assault mechs. ^_^

Habokku is the Japanese translation for Havoc, but in the end, I'll always go by just Havoc.

It suits me, or so I'm told.

WerewolfX has been my call sign since my best buddy and practical brother died. Two reasons mainly, we went by Werewolf (ME) and WerewolfX (Him) and took the same mechs in an effort in misguiding opponents plus we worked as a hunter killer pair. When he died I took the moniker and joined up with The Midnight Sons where I truly earned the nickname as my ability to come out of nowhere (X factor) and I'd hunt an enemy mech no matter where they'd go.

Well, ever since Basic Training, I've had the nickname Joker. Most everyone calls me that, really. So that's pretty much my "callsign". As for the Vile part, well that's because I'm a vile little b***rd in a fight. I fight to win, no questions asked.

I do not have any callsign.
Enemies do not live long enough to get to know it and allies will be too busy to stare at my skills with mech to ask for it. ^_^
