Even though I tick the 'keep me logged in' box I still find the cookie to expire way too fast. Could this be extended to 3/7 days?

30 minutes?
I never had any problems staying logged in.
I stay logged in even overnight.

As far as I can see it's session based, so if you leave your browser open or maybe your computer running it would persist. I imagine it is the same for most browsers, but some may hold onto session cookies longer than others

edit: The pass_hash cookie expires in 7 days, but I havent seen this effect how long I remain logged in.

As long as I have my browser open I have never seen it expire.
Once I close the browser however, I have to log back in.

mine expires after around 15 minutes. If the thread I want to respond in is the last tab I opened when going to the forums it has usually timed out. (I'm one of those who opens every thread I want to read and then starts reading when I find no more new threads)

Good point! I get logged out pretty fast too. Using chrome, btw.

Would like this. Not sure what browser people are using that keeps them logged in overnight.

Also - why the redirect to the main page after login? Browsing forum... see a pertinent forum topic... browse topic... go to reply... NOT LOGGED IN... login... REDIRECT to main page - topic lost in sea of topics. ;P

I ALWAYS leave the MWO page open in a browser, even if the browser is minimized its always logged out when I come back

I wouldnt care if it never logged me out. I am tired of entering in my log in and password everytime i open it up. I tell IE to save my password and it saves it for a couple of times. I have to log in to my Gmail account about once every 3 weeks or something. Who at my house is going to look at my MWO account and if they did who cares? What would they do... stare at a PENDING notice? Just leave me logged in until further notice.
