A regular engine only rests in the middle torso. XL engines are in the middle and both shoulders, hence easier to destroy if you take out any of the three torso sections (shoulders have less armor than center)

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize what you were responding to. Really? Have to take out head, CT, or both legs? Is that the way its in MW4 mercs also?

Good idea. and with 70odd post/page's there's alot to skim threw. and not just useless chat. it's nice to see a plae where the unit's people and other's can come and chat.

Team Speak is also active almost all 24 hours of the day. The units forums are even more active.

XL is in, so we should see a difference in being able to crit/kill a 'mech with one in the side torso's over ones not having XL being a bit harder to kill in that aspect.

I must say, I'm disapointed in my fellow citizens. We may have fought against the Combine before our independence, but House Kurita ceded us a great manoy of our current worlds (not incidentely forcing the Lyrans to do the same), and then fought to protect us in the Ronin Wars. It's fair to say that our independence has been preserved not once but twice by House Kurita's actions.

Now I'm not going to pretend that their decisions were anything short of purest realpolitik. But to call them the enemies of the Republic is simply slander. I've no particular love for the Draconis Combine, but surely we should bear no grudge against them. And as for any claims that this could strengthen our position vis-a-vis the inevitable Clan invasion, let me ask you a question: who will we have to ask for help when the Clans are overrunning our Coremost worlds and gunning for Rausalhaugue itself? When the Republic's safety itself is threatened, I'd feel better if we'd declined from provoking our pwerful neighbors.

After all, there are periphery states aplenty to whet our blades against. Surely they offer a better prize than a long war against our closest neighbor? And, of course, there are the Lyrans to consider. I'm sure they'd like nothing better than to see their smaller neighbors fight amonst themselves. Now, I've no grudge against the Lyrans, the Federated Suns, or any other part of the Federated Commonwealth. But they're the largest power in the galaxy (albeit disunited), and we'd do better not to play into their hands.

Call me crazy. Anyway, forward the Republic!

I'm pretty sure most of us feel the same. We just rib on the Combine because we can .

the only reasion we have our Republic is because Com Star "convinced" the Combine to create a buffer between the lyran's and themself's and to remove it's "most trublesome" citizens. and the Com star Tech that thay recived in the deal also helped them to make up there mind.

This is quite true. We have people who don't work until the afternoons USA time that are on in the mornings, GMT/Euro players in the afternoons, Nighttime USA folks who are on sometimes until 3, 4 or even 5 AM Eastern duking it out with the $&@^($# clanners on MegaMek!
