Odd it works when I click on it. Did you click on the only selection there is for Skjaldborg and then hit Start Application?

And yes we are still recruiting. I believe we are working up to regiment strength or 6ish companies worth around 72 people.

(note I may be wrong with my math I havnt looked at the numbers in awhile nor commited them to memory)

I must say, I'm disapointed in my fellow citizens. We may have fought against the Combine before our independence, but House Kurita ceded us a great manoy of our current worlds (not incidentely forcing the Lyrans to do the same), and then fought to protect us in the Ronin Wars. It's fair to say that our independence has been preserved not once but twice by House Kurita's actions.

Now I'm not going to pretend that their decisions were anything short of purest realpolitik. But to call them the enemies of the Republic is simply slander. I've no particular love for the Draconis Combine, but surely we should bear no grudge against them. And as for any claims that this could strengthen our position vis-a-vis the inevitable Clan invasion, let me ask you a question: who will we have to ask for help when the Clans are overrunning our Coremost worlds and gunning for Rausalhaugue itself? When the Republic's safety itself is threatened, I'd feel better if we'd declined from provoking our pwerful neighbors.

After all, there are periphery states aplenty to whet our blades against. Surely they offer a better prize than a long war against our closest neighbor? And, of course, there are the Lyrans to consider. I'm sure they'd like nothing better than to see their smaller neighbors fight amonst themselves. Now, I've no grudge against the Lyrans, the Federated Suns, or any other part of the Federated Commonwealth. But they're the largest power in the galaxy (albeit disunited), and we'd do better not to play into their hands.

Call me crazy. Anyway, forward the Republic!

Simple Answer:

Davion has agreed: Race to Luthein it is. ;)
Clan invasion....what clan invasion? They'll be forced to go AROUND the Rasalhague, because we won't be giving up a single world.
And finally, in three years (3052) 99% of the Inner Sphere will belong to Rasalhague anyways....

...so I say again....where's there a need to make friends? :P

I'm very glad to hear you're still recruiting. Unfortunately, when I click the link, if I'm logged in I get:

Spoiler

Earlier, when I tried to apply, I found that the drop down box labeled "Application Forms" doesn't do any dropping down. Looking at the Javascript on the page, there don't seem to be any targets to be dropping down. Same in IE, Firefox and Chrome.

All of the above caused me to think earlier that you'd stopped recruiting, and just nailed shut the application box.
personal stuff:

Well, some small good news. Somebody else was able to apply today, so the problem has to be with me or my system somewhere.

Excellent, because I can do something about my probs.

...tea parties? Er...mead parties, I suppose. Meh, I suppose it's all about shooting at each other in giant robots anyway. :)

But I'm here to fight the clans and hold back the tide of history. Glad to see we've got enthusiasm on board! Looking forward to hunting Clanners with y'all.

Got the problems solved, though it took hours of hair pulling. Either having a profile, but not yet returning the email confirmation left me in limbo, ... Or the note to the webmaster caused something to get fixed on the back end.

Thanks guys.

That's great!

I read the KungsArme description again and I realized just how awesome it is. They have Lyran specific equipment, Combine specific equipment AND Comstar equipment and mechs. What other military has that kind of access?

I Actually find FRR An amazing faction of which I truly respect. I wish the FFR liked Mercs more. Steiner is a "butter" producing state (for the most part ) and mercanaries provide the perfect standing army that is not constantly finaced by taxpayers. A truly perfect proposition, specificly for a growing state such as FRR. As a citizen of The Lyran state I would be pleased to help you regain teritory from the clans and House Kurita.

I know you can crush the Dragons head!

What do you mean 'yet'. The clans only take it because it would be too unfair if we fought them from the get go. We LET them have it.

To be fair, I said nothing of fighting them, merely that they aren't in the game yet. Enjoy those CERPPC's to the face.

Well no players will be able to fight or join the clans there is only the 'Borg. Resistance is futile.

On another note Welcome to our newest member Suicidal Id iot!

oddly the second part of your name is censored so I'm amazed the name even got by.

Now, let me just address this. Based on the RP unit history we fleshed out, the proto-Skjaldborg was formed in '27 as a part of the Tyr Resistance Movement. In '29 it became an official merc unit, after its members were able to escape and receive support from the Lyrans. It was founded by people who had faced generations of oppression by the Combine, and its main founder (as well as other members) were brutally tortured and executed by Combine officials.

Despite Theodore Kurita's seemingly beneficial actions (that we know were really done to benefit the Combine) on the behalf of the Free Rasalhague Republic, emotion will never be divorced from this units relations with House Kurita. They have many centuries to atone for.

I have a feeling they won't go with the side torso XL engine death, they said you have to take out the head, both legs, or the CT to get a kill somewhere. :(

It'd better be destructible. Most MW games have been way too easy on XL engines.

This is quite true. We have people who don't work until the afternoons USA time that are on in the mornings, GMT/Euro players in the afternoons, Nighttime USA folks who are on sometimes until 3, 4 or even 5 AM Eastern duking it out with the $&@^($# clanners on MegaMek!

Fricking canisters keep crashing the game, too...
