Will there be any chance that a mech will have internal problems when they get hit too much? Like getting the leg in red or critical would make you slower (not limping) or taking too many critical hits in the torso would make you lose your night vision sort of like the Mechwarrior 2 games.

That would be great for immersion, great impacts would surely deconnect a wire or two when they land

If you glance at the TT rules, mechs have critical spaces that equipment is placed in, which includes arm and leg joints as well as sensors, and if the armor is stripped away (or a lucky shot gets in) those critical components will be disabled or destroyed.
A mech doesn't suffer penalties just because it's internal structure takes damage however, unless the section collapses... in which case everything in it is gone.

I think some cosmetic flair for this would be kind of cool, though, so long as it didn't interfere with continuing to fight in any way. Occasional sparks, for instance would be a nice touch.

Exactly, a cable or two falling, some sparks and maybe cracks on the glass :P Even some interferences on the screen would be great !

Heck I would say most likely you will see stuff falling off mechs and stuff like that. Have you seen the new crisis game? It might not be my fav game but the graphics are pretty intense. The Cry Engine is pretty amazing and I would expect nothing less then amazing from mechs. I just hope the textures are not too intense.

Some nice ideas, but I don't think they will add anything that strays the game away from the TT rules.

This they could do! Keep up the ideas people, giving the Devs some good ideas to think about is what they, and us, want.

Also, warning noises, loud enough to be heard but not so loud as to intrude and break your situational awareness while you die... err, I mean gloriously fight against overwhelming odds for the good of your unit and have to eject at the last minute.

I'm thinking medium to low volume female synthetic voice calling out things like "Reactor performance impaired" "Climate control... offline" "Backup power at 72%" "Switching to backup comms" and that sort of thing. No actual game effect but giving the flavour of a sophisticated system falling apart around you as the enemy hammers you towards a reactor failure or smashes your cockpit in and buries you in the debris.

The HEV suit from Half-life is a great example for this. "Automatic medical systems engaged, morphine administered." "User death immanent." "Major fracture, detected."

Actually, yes, ideal example because its job is largely the same, in terms of warning to the pilot and what many of the systems do (HUD for feedback, etc).

Is it wrong that by just reading that I can hear the lady, with the nice calm voice telling, me I'm fraked?

The voice is iconic. I was playing HL2 the other day (still an awesome game) and had it telling me that when I had 1 HT left. Luckily I fell onto a med kit...
Now, back to mechs!

No can do. Animatronic improvements to the normal SHM-001 Cockpit Hula Girl were not available until halfway through the FedCom Civil War.

I can't wait to try this game out. Going to get a founder's package tonight. I would be very happy with there being "critical hits" in it. As in when you armor is destroyed there being a chance for systems to get disrupted by damage to internals. This sort of thing would definitely damage your ability to fight and that is the whole point of it. For example, a hit to one of your weapons, or heat sinks being destroyed and the ability of your mech to dissipate heat being hampered. Look forward to see how everything is implemented in this game

Mechs should lose function as they are hit, and some visuals along those lines would be great!

I can see your HUD and radar getting messed up in the process.
