I can't wait to try this game out. Going to get a founder's package tonight. I would be very happy with there being "critical hits" in it. As in when you armor is destroyed there being a chance for systems to get disrupted by damage to internals. This sort of thing would definitely damage your ability to fight and that is the whole point of it. For example, a hit to one of your weapons, or heat sinks being destroyed and the ability of your mech to dissipate heat being hampered. Look forward to see how everything is implemented in this game

A lot of what you're describing is pretty standard fare in Mechwarrior. When the armor of a section of the Mech is breached, the critical slots (where everything from guns to ammo to your engine are stored) can be damaged. If a critical slot containing ammo is hit, the ammo tends to violently explode and cause additional damage. If a weapon is hit, it usually performs poorly or stops operating entirely. If the engine is damaged, you can't move as quickly, and so on. Considering that such a system of damage reaction was able to be implemented in the mid 1990s, I seriously doubt that it wouldn't be included in MWO.

I hope so.

Internal damage has been one of the core mechanics of the true to the game Battletech games for a long time.

A minor correction: if the engine gets hit in old school BT, it creates additional heat, thus in effect limiting the weapons you still can use. Anyways, the Mechlab video of MWO shows that all components installed require slots, just like they do in BT, and also CASE is used in it, which only makes sense when ammo explosions can happen.

Thus i'd say that critical damage and their results are a sure bet in MWO.
