For you new players-being in a group changes your perspective on the whole game.

Seriously, I'll be the first to admit when you're starting out and you're dropping solo, this game is lousy. It's hard, it's heavily dependent on coordination, and without much experience you're likely to get stomped more often than not. We've all been there. So I encourage everyone to check out the Houses and the Merc Corps to locate a group of like-minded players that you can join. Every house forum has a recruitment area, and the Merc Corps are no different. Go there, scan the posts, see if you may be interested in joining a clan. It really will make a world of difference in how you feel playing MWO. There's groups out there for everyone, so put yourself out there and give a few of them a try.

--- Warning: shameless promotion following ---
My own unit, the MarineMechs (a Mercenary Corporation) has recently developed a short training curriculum for new members to complete to help them adjust to life in a clan as well as help them improve their MWO experience. The training includes:
- A short introduction to MWO (both the client and forums, including a review of MWO codes of conduct)
- Suggestions on PC usage (game settings, key bindings, screenshots, frame rates, etc.)
- Suggestions on purchasing your first mech (where applicable)
- Basic gameplay tutorials (where applicable)
- An introduction to the MarineMechs code of conduct and expectations (Important to know what your clan requires of you, no matter what clan you're in!)
- An introduction to the MarineMechs website and website usage

You can check us out at MarineMechs.com.

--- Shameless promotion over ---

TL;DR- From one Mechwarrior to another, check out all the clans and groups out there. Join one that works for you, one that you'll enjoy. Then see how much fun you can have on MWO.

Having seen mdmzeroO in action, I can attest to the level of professionalism he and his group bring to the game. I agree with the points he has made about checking out he Houses and the Clans now, before Community Warfare and Loyalty Points become more relevant. Everyone is looking for pilots and finding that one unit for your style and temperament is easier before the game explodes into what Community Warfare promises.

I strongly suggest running with folks, and Tournaments like the Aces Wild Merc Madness are an exceptional venue to meet others, drop with as many as you have the time, and get to know others. It was a very friendly event that was all inclusive. Clans, Mercs and Houses were present and intermingling in one-on- to 12 man drops. You don't have to join anything to get in-game, just sign in for the door prizes and start having fun.

Follow the forums to find these events. They are an ideal try-before-you-decide opportunity!

...And before I forget, remember to check out the Dark Side; we're always looking for good pilots to fill the Void between Clan and House that needs Massive Mech Destructiveness!

If you are still looking to help several groups are always open to assist, I would also recommend scanning through youtube or twitch and find posted videos with tips and tricks for peoples idea of the game from their cockpit.

NGNG (No Guts No Galazy) http://nogutsnogalaxy.net/
Aces Wild (Mercs) http://the-aces.enjin.com/

Seperately I always welcome new players into our fold, we have a few requirements but if interested stop by,
Deaths Hand Brigade (Mercs) www.deathshandbrigade.net

As always most any group you join will Recommend either Team Speak, Ventrillo, or Skype atleast as some form of voice comms. So far mostly TS is what I feel our community focuses on.

Welcome!

intel i7-XXXX series processor
GTX nvidia card, pref X60 and above i.e. 760, 770, 780
8gb ddr3 minimum RAM, preferably higher rated speeds i.e. 2133 or 2400mhz (make sure motherboard supports it)

*SSD to install games on if you have the money
*watercooler for CPU for overclocking if you want to try it (240 or 280mm or more if your case has the room)
*HDD for other less important files
*16gb of ram if you have the money

*AMD/ATI if you want a price cut

I need help with something, as a player returning from playing with the closed Beta.

Now when I was in the beta I could just jump in, play, and didn't have much trouble with shooting or anything, in fact my aim was steady. I'm on a new machine now, and the changes to the game have resulted in... Unsteadiness. It doesn't lag per say, but once I'm in a firefight even my steady hand is jerking around, the mouse is all over the place, and my target reticule will skip, jump, and hop at odd and skewed angles, like rising at a forty-five degree angle and then dropping downward even though I'm just trying to pan right.

I've tried adjusting the ingame mouse settings but it's just not helping. Am I losing my mind or is there an adjustment I can make?

Hello everyone,

I've been playing for a little while now, but mostly solo. I was wondering if anyone would like to team up? I could always use tips from other Mechwarriors.

Thanks for your time.

Tried using arm lock to bring both arm and torso reticules together (default key "L") or adjusting the mouse sensitivity & acceleration in settings?

You're always welcome to check out/ stop by and drop with the MarineMechs. We're always looking for new members, but if you're not interested in joining a unit you're still welcome to stop by our TS server. If that's not your thing, I recommend you check out some of the other units in the Merc Corps forum, some are more casual. There's a place for everyone!

Come join the Smoke Adders on Strana Mechty TS3. Look for the Skull and Crossbones in place of letters to find us!

We are a Clan-lore based unit geared at both competitive and causal play and we will always drop with some Lone Wolves looking for a group. Most member are in the EST timezone or cater to that time of play.

I just don't want to play with random russians anymore.
Trying to get into this game, but all that happens is I get ganked, the game crashes, or some other bug happens (can't stop moving, whatever I try - cockpit view going ballistic and end up looking into the headrest - registered hits at close range doing absolutely NOTHING).
Browsing these forums there seems to be mostly trolls.
I guess this is going the way of WoT and WT. Only trolls inhabit the forums, complacent devs charging money for everything.

Please, give me some reason to continue. If I get into one more random match with russians, that's it. I'm done.

Got teamspeak?

You'll want it if you don't. http://www.teamspeak.com/
Teamspeak 3. Easy to use, most gaming groups have their own hosts.

Next throw an add at me.

After that, just send me a message (right click my name then send message) and as soon as I get a chance to see it I'll share the teamspeak info and take you for a ride in private matches to show you the ropes before escorting you in some public ones.
