Hi all,

I registered for MWO during the name capitalization problem, and missed out on the opportunity to have it corrected (the name cap forum thread is no longer accessible). I have emailed support about the issue, and was told that maybe at some point in the future, we'd be able to do something about it, but they're no longer working on it themselves.

The problem for me is that I'd like to buy a founder's pack, but I certainly don't want to have to fork out an extra $10 or something to do a name change and fix the capitalization issue at launch if they decide that's the best way to do it. I would simply delete the account and start over, since it looks like they've fixed the problem at registration, but there's no option to do that either.

So, I'm stuck with the dilemma of rolling the dice, paying an extra sum of cash to fix a name problem that I didn't cause in the first place, or registering with a new name (and defeating the whole purpose of "reserve your name now!").

Can we get some word on the official stance for this? Is name cap going to be fixable before the game launches? If a mod (or someone else) is able to fix the cap problem with my name, I'll buy the founder's package right now!

Hello Sinetris, it looks like you came at a bad time. For months after the forum launch we had a dedicated thread for name capitalization issues in the Website Support forum, but as those problems faded away it was no longer necessary. I'm moving your request to the support forum, and Kyle will get to it ASAP.

In the future we have plans to implement a process for changing your pilot name. At this time, you may make another account with your preferred name, but otherwise I'm sorry but you may have to wait until the formal name-change system is in place. Our developers are working very hard to bring a slew of functions to the game and to the forums; thank you for your patience.

Which we're going to have to pay for, right? So let me get this straight. We have to wait to pay for us to fix your bug?

Be calm people. Last time I checked capitalizing a name isn't changing your name; so if they are to charge for a change to your name I would not worry.

I just thought I'd post here too because when I reserved my name ages back it was for KaiZeth not kaizeth.

I realise we have to wait because that fix is not available at the moment but I hope we don't have pay in the future for something that wasn't our faults..
