I think Thom was saying that, were he in the position of a seller, he wouldn't sell it for less than 30,000, and thereby raising questions about whether Chris would have ever accepted 3,000. I figure that 3,000 will buy you a lot of cans of beans, and that when you are desperate, you might care a lot less about what you could potentially get for a non-edible laser system, and how many cans of beans that guy there is offering you right now.

Nope. Nik had one from when he stole that RVN-3L Raven from the MAC, but I fluffed it as being damaged (along with the BAP) during his escape, considering he's not going to use either one. It also allowed him to keep the IS on the Chameleon standard.

Edit: I hope there's still room for me.

The briefing kinda went on longer than I was expecting; it's because people were asking good questions and giving good suggestions though, so that's okay. At any rate, I think I'd like to fast-forward to the drop just to expedite things; if there are no objections to that, the post'll go up tomorrow!

That's for sure. Normally I don't have any presupposed outcomes in mind; I have a scenario crafted, but how the players want to approach it is up to them. I'd rather watch them come up with their own solution than watch them trying to figure out the solution that I had in mind. That leads to a lot of games where I have no idea what the players are going to do, and I'm just improvising moment-to-moment.
That kind of an open-ended approach is really hard to manage with this many players, though; it gets messy if you have a dozen different people each trying to do their own thing. At that point, I prefer a scenario like this one - the players can put their own touches on it, but it's more "here's the plan" than "what's the plan?"
That way I can be the one throwing the monkey wrenches. Heh.
