Im getting a little annoyed cause this game really seems like its gonna end up being a "re-skin" of world of tanks, which i was excited to leave behind. I'm just saying it doesnt feel like mechwarrior and feels more like a money leech.
some one please tell me im wrong!

Ok I see where yore coming from, I was also a World of Tanks player for a few months. However, I feel that this game has teh ppotential to be so much more, but unfortunately we will just have to wait and see what happens.

I wonder how many results I'd get if I searched through forum topics with "world of tanks" or "wot"
Hmmm
Yup, over 100 hits and that's using only the exact title (not acyronyms).

Also, try playing a game before you judge it so harshly. PGI would have to screw up royally to end up with a cheap WoT knockoff.

I think the term you are looking for is "money grab". This may end up being the BEST GAME EVER OMG! but they said the same thing during the runup to Duke Nukem Forever. Once the initial revenue stream starts to decline the devs will have no choice except to move to a "pay to win" model in order to maintain the game, just like every other MMO.

Tell me what makes it a WoT reskin, besides the borrowed game mode (every FPS is a reskin of Quake in that regard ;)).

All games have to make money else they die...just deal with the fact they need to encourage you to spend some money on a game. Games like DDO died a death because it didnt make enough cash....we dont want this being a great game but with no money to spend....

Not sure what you see as a money leech. Once you have the ability to sell mechs (and you will) there hasn't been a single thing announced that will force you to spend any real money.

I would gladly pay if it went sub pay every month, in order evolve the game... Ive always loved Mechwarrior universe, been there since day 1.

And pls stop that clone talk *****... YOU cant compare WoT to MW Universe..then Thomas the tank engine, is a clone of transformers.. its a talking train..

And not Quake... Wolfenstein ;)

My thoughts from what I know, read, and listened are exactly the same. I hope to god, piranha is in these 5% of companies who arent making game just for the money but with some love and care for their products...

...but as of now, World of Mechs is too probable and I am too afraid of that...

It's not gonna be world of Mechs since the game is fundamentally different (action, short rounds with non-persistent environments).

However, I have found most F2P developments to be exceedingly disappointing, so in that sense, you have every right to be worried. So far, TF2 and DOTA2 are the only games that F2P and excellent.

Tribes: Ascend is also quite good. Although it's becoming quite different than the old ones.
