....and hopefully for every Timber Wolf on the battlefield there'll be two Warhammers pounding it with PPCs with an appropriate amount of indirect fire support.

Big whoop, the Timber Wolf E, H and S would still beat those variants.

Bloody.... Again, the IS mocks the savagry that is the TImber Wolf by making it sound fluffy with a name akin to a mewling kitten. Guess you IS free births will see the ferocity we clanners bring when we Field our Timber Wolves and you cannot stop us.

Neither. They team up to take down Harmony Gold so that we can actually see epic battles like this.

More seriously, the Timberwolf would win in the end, unless the Warhammer's pilot is incredibly skilled/ lucky. The Timberwolf would take damage, however.

The Timber Wolves got stopped at Tukayyid. Enjoy the advantage while you can.

And how many IS pilots died before the clans were stopped?

My heart says Warhammer (God I love that mech) but my head says Timberwolf.

I heard that harmony gold backed off so if that true I'd love to see a Warhammer in the game. It'd nicely fill that 3rd heavy space. =D

To quote a great general of Warhammer 40k, "We have reserves."

Clan Tech is a huge factor. Mad Cat for the win.

Not enough to matter, apparently, since meaningful Clan victories stopped after their humiliating defeat at Tukayyid.

Humiliating? Ulric Kerensky engineerd Tukayyid to give the IS a chance to fight back. Why do think Kerlin Ward sent the Dragoons his "special orders" in the first place?

Clan Wolf demolished the Comstar troops at Tukayyid whereas the Falcons and Ghost Bears did a good job at slaughtering the toaster worshippers.

The IS would be chanting the WoB gospel if the Clans hadn't stepped in, just look at Luthien and Tharkad.
WoB had them all by the balls, the Clans would have crushed them sooner if they hadn't been dealing with the Wars of Reaving.

The defeat was humiliating, with only Wolf and Ghost Bear attaining any sort of victory; the Bears' was partial. The Falcons only managed a draw. That the Clans let themselves be drawn into Ulric's gambit makes the defeat worse, not better. And certainly the Clanners cannot blame Ulric (or the weather, or the Dragoons, or whoever) for the utter annihilation of the Smoke Jaguar clan and the second defeat in the Great Refusal.

As for the terrible Jihad fluff, you're free to believe what you will regarding how that war would've went, but the IS had already dealt with the technologically-advanced enemy-to-all once.

It really depends on which one, i.e., which loadout and what versions. If you are talking base models then Mad Cat hands down. Clan beats 3025 gear (pilots being equal). That and the Warhammer is giving 5 tons to the Mad Cat. Now WHM-IIc and Mad Cat ... well bye bye Kitty.
