Will you have to start with a light mech, or can you pick any mech?

While we wont know until the developers tell us, they have stated that they dislike the idea of previous MW games being an arms race to the assault mechs. So who knows what they would do XD?

I can't answer you directly for there is an NDA in effect.. however what I can say is the devs have made it clear that this will not be an "arms race" or in other words it won't be about starting small and grinding to get the biggest mech, which is how other MW games have been in the past.

Other than that, can't really say anything.

Actually the Devs have answered this already:

You can pick a starter mech. There will be 4 starter mechs to choose from, one from each weight class.

Other mechs you can buy with MC(cash currency) or C-bills(in-game currency). Thee is no 'start in a light', and the Devs are on record saying they want new people to play in any class they choose, including Assault

Great. I was only wondering because I wanted to try a little bit of every flavor.

You can buy them with C-Bills, sure, but they won't be the Founder's version.

It would make sense for each faction to have a different set of 4 starter mechs, like the available starter light to be a Jenner from Draconis Combine and a Commando from Lyran Commonwealth. That would give the initial players some variety and reflect the manufacturing centers in the Inner Sphere.

Any mech you can afford to purchase. The devs don't want this game to be an arms race to the biggest mech so each class should have a role.

you can't have the Founder Mech cosmetic skin or the 25% bonus C-bills

you CAN buy a normal Atlas, normal Jenner, etc.

hey light487... watch how you do or dont answer questions. Just by you telling someone you cant answer something directly because of the NDA is like telling someone "Im a tester but cant tell you I'm a tester." And this too is breaking NDA. Not sure if you are a tester but if so, please watch what and how you answer game related questions.

Yoseful, He's a founder. Its assumed we're in beta, and is not a violation of the NDA. Get your facts straight.
