Code of Conduct suggestion to those who work on other fan artists' work:
- PM the original artist first
- PM the result and get an OK before posting if it is meant to be funny or to translate a different meaning or message than the original
- keep it tasteful and respectful
- make sure to provide credit to the original fan artist on the intro and on the artpiece (because the images are in effect links to images posted elsewhere so we may lose track)
Good job Max!

Sorry for the unintentional breech of conduct there Ironhawk, I'm glad you see it was a respectful build on your previous work and was not intended to take anything away from it at all. I'll try to get those suggestions put into the pic as soon as I can figure out how to do it. I'm still learning my way around Photoshop. :D

There was no breech since there was no code (and even then my last message just suggested one). I was ot offended in any way but wondered what would happen if things got out of hand. In the New UrbanMech thread, someone was hurt (not me) to see his art reused and painted over for some humor... So I figured. Like I said, I do like what you did with that Atlas. Great ambiance.

I now throw my hat into the ring. Many thanks to both Hayden for the helpful hints and CakeBandit's video on YouTube. Is this a great community, or what?

This Hunchback is painted in the battle colours of the Harmless Little Beavers, a Mercenary Unit formed within the borders of, and employed by, the Free Rasalhague Republic. The paint scheme is a loose representation of the Canadian flag, a nation state on the planet Terra. The unit logo is located on the left thigh and depicts a portion of the Canadian flag, the industrious Beaver [as ferocious looking as possible], and the logo of the FRR. The logo of their current employers is found on the right leg of each Mech.
The unit was formed on the planet Trondheim, a planet that saw many Canadian settlers in the early years of colonization. Indeed, many of the founding officers can trace back their heritage to the North American country, and the unit colours and logo are a nod of respect to their ancestors. Something of note regarding the unit logo. It seems that a very old comedy troupe called 'Monty Python's Flying Circus' made a movie, 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'. This film was a farcical journey filmed in the 1970s, it is believed. At any rate, a scene from the movie had a nasty little rodent of some kind killing off Medieval knights. Armed with vicious teeth and the gift of flight, this rodent made short work of these knights by biting their necks until the hapless victim was decapitated. Silly, to be sure, but the idea of the tiny creature besting armoured men struck the funny bone of the unit commander, and thus the motif and company motto… a line from the movie. Mistakenly thinking the small rodent was the Canadian national symbol, the Beaver, it was adopted as part of the unit insignia, fitting for a unit tracing roots and inspiration from that sovereign nation. It was only after the MRBC had registered the unit name and logo that the mistake came to light… the rodent in the film was actually a fluffy white bunny rabbit. Satisfied that very few people, if any, would recognize the error, the unit decided unanimously to stick with the name, logo and colour scheme.

I love it, and I'm glad to see some more mercs on Trondheim with us! :D

The weather sucks, but it's a prime location. ;)

Many thanks, Dihm. I tried to have fun with the unit logo history, name, logo and paint job. Glad you had a good laugh, as that was the purpose. :)

slideshow updated, no offense to Shimmering Sword (love your work) but I will not include the marauder repaints in the slideshow (repaint thread and what not).

I'll do another tally of pics by peeps when we get to 100 pages (so sometime next week).

:D

***edits***
I've gone through and removed all non-repaints from the slideshow, that'll help keep it to a mere 505 pics.

So basically if it has any MW:O asset in it, I'll include it, otherwise it's not getting uploaded.

I can also see a Hunchback with the words "Combo Breaker" on the AC 20 too. :D

Awesome job dude! :)

Anyone want to take a stab at cleaning this up better?
I took my favorite parts of FD's concept pics of the Dragon and tried to clean it up and put some textures on it.
I'm not sure how much more I can do but I'll bet someone else can get a nice repaint out of this.

That's freakin' awesome, dood. I personally really liked the concept sketch where the Dragon had a very long torso, I think it made it look like it was specifically designed to fling LRMs at the enemy with extreme prejudice. XD

Since repainting these mechs my respect for Flying Debris has grown in leaps and bounds, you just don't realise the detail of the artwork until you start zooming in to pixel level.

PS nice Deathwing Atlas there Hartsblade ;)
