Mine was victor for the fact he was just an amazing character

And I don't know why he wasn't on the list but a close second would have to be Archer Christifari I think I spelled that wrong but you all will know who I mean . He was an amazing stratigist and an all around great character

I am a fan of Victor. I must admit, a close second was Phelan from when he was written at first. Kai would be a distant third.

Phelan Kell. Though I do like Victor and Kai a lot. And Hohiro is cool.

I hate Sun-Tzu though.

Almost a tie between Phelan and Victor, but I've got to give Victor the edge. Hohiro and Kai were decent characters, and as much as I dislike Sun-Tzu, I'll respect his political acumen. Phelan started off as a brash mech jockey and was completely transformed by and for Clan Wolf (and later Wolf-in-Exile). And he definitely gets extra props for fighting with and under the Queen of Spades.

Victor, though, starts as a tactically sound but naive commander and a woefully terrible politician. Over time, though he becomes a damn-near military genius and acceptable politician (though that process took quite a long time) who is pretty much the foremost military commander amongst the Inner Sphere militaries. Besides, he ends up living to be over a century old, in a universe where almost everyone has tried and failed to kill him at some point or another.

That said, as far as favorites go, none of these guys can hold a candle to the Black Widow. Gotta love Natasha Kerensky!

Victor and Phelan, honestly. Both are good men who put people ahead of everything.

Wow, Really? Phelan Kell is the only clanner on the list, and he's only kind of sort of.

I'd have voted for The Jade Phenox. Adain Pride was just an awesome character, and his story had the perfect happy ending from a clan point of view. Second place is a tie between Horse, and Trent. Horse had more "screen time" and thus was more fleshed out, but like Adain, Trent also gets a good clan ending, while Horse just falls into the book gap between the end of the clan saga, and the begining of the dark ages.

Adain pride is the best clanner that i have seen from jade falcon. his tennacitie and skill make him unbeatble one on one, he is a military genieus that found a way out of almost every problem that came in front of him, and he came back stronger than before in every situation that he failed at (witch you can count on one hand). yet he still had a human side to him that most clansman don't have. he was compassionate to the freeborns and eventially felt at home around them. he felt love for Marthe and Perry. and most of all he showed the love of a father in his final hour, by taking down mech by mech by mech to save his daughter. he is one the best characters in battle tech ever created

Witch is your favorite character out of these five, and why is he your favorite character. (and if your favorite character is a lady from the same time period you can write about why you like her)

Kai Allard! He beat the crap out of an elemental on Alyina with his bare hands, and killed another one!

Well your missing my favourite which is Hanse Davion, the perfect example of a enlightened Tyrant. Machiavelli might have well be writing about him when he wrote the prince.

If I had to chose from the five listed it would probably be Victor, because of the ones listed he is the most human, Phelan and Kai are a little too super powered for my liking, and Kai;s massive emo gives me a headache.

In fact now that I think about I think the Morgan Kell is cooler then Phelan, and Justin Xiang is cooler then his son. So let's hear it for the older generation.

Aidan Pryde. His whole life evolved around luck. Be it good or bad. He was an above average Mechwarrior with a superior tactical mind. Very unclanlike. Where others would challenge one on one he would shoot whatever was near him wearing the wrong I.F.F. signature. He was the only reason Clan Jade Phoenix was one of the honored few who was able to stand against the Comguards and claim half victory. All the other clans had an extremely hard time adapting to superior forces with similar technology. Except the Wolves of course.

Kai is the most skilled Mechwarrior in every way with any Mech against any opponent. He's so good he should be tested after every match in the arena for the use of PED's. I would like to see if skill could defeat luck on a REAL battlefield. I bet if they were to simulate the battle they would both go critical meltdown at the same time and not override the auto-eject in time and force a draw. Then go grab two more mechs and do it all over again! A neverending battle if you will.

Someone who is not on the list but is definatelly one of the coolest characters of the universe imo: Cassie Sutton. Anyone who hunts mech's on foot and has the ''balls'' to be accepted by the Cabaleros is someone who deserves to be rightly feared by all!

Victor is my first choice, because he is the consummate miltary man and very diplomatic as well. Also I deeply identified with him.
Kai-Allard Liao takes second because he displays such humility despite having an almost unparalleled skill. Also that he manages to maintain some compassion and humanity even in the midst of the most terrible things that happen in the war.
Phelan takes third for the men, his accomplishment and determination is worth many mentions.

Some women in the Battletech universe I admire:

Melissa Steiner comes to mind first because she is a benevolent ruler. Rationally I recognize this was a device used by the authors to illustrate the horrible thing that Katrina is becoming when she is willing to kill this woman who has nurtured her for 20 years just for a taste of power.

Ariana Winston is my second most admired because of her tactical ability and grit.

Omi Kurita comes in a strong third because of her compassion and balanced viewpoint on life.

Argh... Its a tough call, but I have to go with Victor for being not only an awesome and well fleshed out character, but being a great combination of fighter and leader, especially during the Clan invasion.

That said, I think my true favorite characters in the BattleTech and MechWarrior universes, are the characters made by the incredible imaginations of our community. The characters you guys create through roleplay and your everyday actions on forums everywhere create not just incredible stories, plots, and motives; they allow someone to truly interact with this incredible universe, no matter who you are or what side you're on. Sure you'll never be remembered in the series cannon, but who cares when you have the power not just to shape your own story, but make it intertwine with the stories of others. The sheer diversity of motives and personalities you can find here makes the difference between just jumping into matches in a 'mech sim and truly having an effect on the world you fight in. I wouldn't want to do battle alongside, or against, anyone else.

Cheers Gentlemen (and Ladies), here's to an amazing franchise and all the fine characters in it!

I definety prefer Kai over the others, he's the most loyal friend i've ever seen, and the best mechwarrior of all times, just look at his alone vs. the Jade Falcon Guard on Twycross

in the BoK trilogy, I would say that it was actually Phelan Kell that I liked the most, though in reality, I didn't like how he would later somehow become clan of the exiled wolves. As such, phelan was my favorite only in the context in that book.

I like Hohiro (Obvious DC Bias), but only in his later years. He seems to have a "Princess in distress" thing written into his life all too often. I've got to say that Sun-Tzu Liao would have to be my best pick outside of the Blood of Kerensky books. Inside them, he was an insufferable ****.

STL. Dude inherits a shattered nation and through shrewd planning, makes the CapCon strong again... well at least for a little bit.
