Been buying laptops only lately so I don't have a desktop that is current.
(athlon 64 3200+ with geforce 6600 card) Ancient I should say.

My laptops are more current.
Does anyone know if one of these will play the game? All are win7 64bit, mostly 4gb ram, t900 is 8gb.

lenovo x201t. core i7 l620 2.0ghz video=intel graphics media hd
(win experience 3.3)

fujitsu t5010. core 2 duo t9600 2.8ghz video = mobile intel 4 series express
(win experience 3.4)

fujitsu t900. core i7 m620 2.67ghz video = intel graphic media accelerator hd

(win experience 4.3)

lenovo e430. core i5 2.5ghz video = intel hd graphics 3000 (win experience 4.8)

(win experience 4.8)

Trying to find out if any of these will play it reasonably okay. i.e. 30fps at 1280x1024 with medium detail.

Thanks!

To play it at any reasonable speed and resolution, you'll need a pretty badass laptop since the PC requirement alone is pretty steep.

if you know the game Crysis then you know what system specs you need.

Horse poopy, it's not more demanding than crysis. Yes the minimum might be greater, but to run it will it's honestly not at all. Cry3 vs Cry2 is huge in performance.

His laptop won't run it for sure. But I can run it fine on one with a 460m and that isn't a great chip for crysis.

Looking over your laptops, I'm thinking the issue you're going to have is a lack of dedicated graphics, the processors and ram should be ok, video... not so much.

I hate to poop in anyone's porridge, but wouldn't that be impossible?

No. If you refer to 3GB limitation on 32bit OS, at least you could use third party tools like Gavotte RamDisk to get your 4GB in use.
Actually you can put as much RAM in as your MB supports.

To give you an idea of a midrange laptop....

My laptop that I am using is a Dell 15" XPS, i5 2.53GHz processor with a Nvidia GeForce GT 420M video chip. I have 4GB Ram....

Beta game runs fine....

Cool, good input. Can anyone offer some tips of which old desktop gear might be best to upgrade? Thanks so much!

Since you guys mentioned graphics as important, maybe my older laptop can play it
Lenovo t61p, Nvidia Quadro fx 570m graphics. XP 32bit, 3GB ram. Core duo t9300 2.5Ghz.

Don't know how athlon mp ranks against the min req athlon II.

Old workstation: dual processor athlon mp 1900+ with a leadtek winfast 200
http://www.pcauthori...nium-200-t.aspx
It's got a tyan tiger mp mobo in an Antec tower case with a 430w PS.
http://tyan.com/arch...ml/tigermp.html

A video card I won that I never used. Is it faster than the minimum? It's primarily a 3d workstation graphics card.
ATI FireGL X1 128MB

I have to cobble two systems together, 1 for my son, and would be good to reuse some of this gear. One reason I got out of PC gaming was I was spending $50 on games and $1800 on computers to play them. Never did have a fast enough system to play Deus Ex that I bought. =)

Thanks in advance!

That laptop with the quadro might be able to handle it on low at low resolutions, but I wouldn't hold my breath as it is below the minimum, and a workstation card at that.

But $1800 on gaming computers? Times have changed, you can build a system for $400-600 that will run every game fine. At the $800 mark you can max out any game and be set for a few years. For that same $1800 you can get two fairly high end gaming machines.

I wanted to give this game a try, but was a little worried if it would work on a laptop. My laptop has a GeForce GT520M and 8GB of RAM, so this post might have just given me an excuse to try it...

I seriously doubt it. It's a game that runs on CryEngine 3, which is the latest version of an engine that's famous for beating up CPUs and taking their lunch money. However, it's Free-To-Play, so download it and give it a try. The GFX can be turned down quite low, though when I try to run it on my own laptop it just gives me the hairy eyeball and says "Seriously?"

Try this...

1)Go here: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com
2)Select Crysis 2
3)Wait...
4)Check results
It it's ok, then MWO will run without problems

Regards!

The lim is actually 4gb, it's just a good bit of that is eaten by whatever video card you put in, irqs, and other crap. Which is why you won't ever see 4gb of memory in a 32bit system*

Their are some os that actually will let you address that but you're talking hardware and os that desktops don't sue.

I think you'll be ok with medium settings at your laptops resolution.
