Open to forum members defiantly.. but not a "Open" Beta.. that would be bad unless the code is really tight and the game is close to gold. Open Betas on unfinished product can turn into a PR problem and kill a game.

No seriously, often Devs will dip into the forums like this for individuals with a lot of energy, time and commitment due to their posts. That's one of the reasons they create them..

If you read all the forums, it will become fairly clear who would make good candidates (ME !!!) and who wouldn't ( Omigir.. **J/K** )

Sometimes the Devs will ask for Closed Alpha/Beta testers to fill out applications to weed out those that do have experience and those that don't as well.

Umm EVERY time you mean? This also includes an indepth application as well as an NDA agreement etc. Just sayin

Come to think of it your right all Closed Alphas required a "application"

Some of the Closed Betas did too.. but can think of a few that the application was more a matter signing up more than anythign else.

But all the Closed Alphas/Betas did require a NDA, which is why I think a closed Beta would be better than a Open one.. because most Open ones I have been in didn't require a NDA and thus those not understanding the term BETA would bad mouth the game before it was fleshed all the way out..

That said.. send me a NDA and I am on it..

Suppose OP is correct, then please understand that what comes soon will merely be an ANNOUNCEMENT about Beta... So we still we gotta add a few weeks, maybe even a month or two, before we can actually play the game for realz.

Seeing as i rarely post as someone usually argues for my position anyway, it would be nice to still have the chance to be in beta, plus iv e been involved and i think useful in other betas. Perhaps i should ramp up my posts.
