Umm, you must not know your history well, Marik kills Marik in their annual rebellions/uprisings.
Most other houses don't need to bother.

It's why we as a house have more regular and vet troops than most houses but seriously lack in elites

As I've always liked the GDL I think I may run Lyran as Grey's original contract was with Katrina Steiner.

If that doesn't work out for me I would problably go with Fed Suns.

Liao is out as I don't really want my life on the line for a madwoman and her consort.
Rasselhauge just seems a bit too tenuous for me, and the clans gobbled them up in the first wave.
Combine is a worthy consideration, but imagine the havok wearing a sword in the cockpit would cause if you had to punch out.
And Marik, their problems have been discussed already.

Aw heck..might as well run with the Highlanders. I can toss a mean caber with a few snorts of single malt scotch in me.

Lori Kalmar is from Sigurd, which is an on/off possession of the Oberon Confederation (which, in turn, is one of the bandit kingdoms). Their HPG blacked out in '45 and in '49 (sources seem to indicate September) the world was captured by Clan Wolf.

Ok lets get something out of the way: Merc Units are not directly part of the big merc groups. The following full blown Independent Security Firms. The outfits players will have will be something a lot closer to specter lance in MW4 Mercs.

Wolf Dragoons

Kell Hounds

Light Horse

Bannson's Raiders

Gray Death Legion

Northwind Highlanders

Each of these are what we'd refer to as Private Military Companies or PMC's A merc lance can claim affiliation but not standing with these units and follow those outfits rules and regulations. But will not be direct representatives of those factions. YET.

Becoming an actual member will likely depend on unit performance over the course of time.

I myself am also looking for a unit. Currently considering House Davion RCTs as well as House Stiener Regiments, but I'm not really sure who all is recruiting. I do not want to sign up with a team before I get a chance to see what they are about; especially when I look at the personal info some of these strangers are asking for. Nor do I want to be locked into a specific mech type to get in. Oh well, just my 2 cents worth. Thanks for the consideration.
