we have given our lives to save each other and sometimes it pays off big. Others we both die and laugh about it so you still win lol

Sacrifices will be done only in teamplay. That already assumes some thinking. Therefore, covering something like a wounded, but still alive long ranged damage-dealer by a scout that has done its job already or a mech with no ammo (or weapons) left would be beneficial. Otherwise, it doesn't even make sense.

secondly..it will have to be done at some point in time, a good commander will often sacrifice someone for a greater tactical advantage
