I'm for Friendly fire as long as the standard 15 second rule stays in effect.........

If there's only 15 seconds left, we can shoot each other :P (hey, a kill IS a kill) :lol:

I voted no to FF even though I like it. Consider the ammount of moderator time it's going to take to ensure that repeat team killers are penalized. Since this is a team game and objective based, if you get one or two griefers/TK'ers on your team that's really going to cause some serious issues with the whole "winning" thing which will lead to butt-hurt which will then lead to calls for moderation/banning/etc.

If you leave the FF out, yeah it's not very realistic and it definately does detract some from the game (imo) but at least you will remove one avenue for the perpetually-derped to ruin other peoples fun. That being said, maybe allow FF to be a selectable condition. Maybe when you have custom matches or something like that you can select to have it on in order to up the realism (giant robots...yup realism).

That's my 2 cents at least

Friendly fire is cool and sim-ish. So yes, I want it in and from the videos it looks like it already is.

FF is necessary. But there should be working penalty system. And i think harsh one

I think anyone who votes Yes to Friendly fire, should have his account removed automaticaly.

MechWarrior without FriendlyFire is like Cornflakes without Milk. It just doesn't work that way.

I'd like to see Friendly Fire. However you need the tools to deal with griefers (both teamkillers and people that park direct in front of you)

I vote yes to friendly fire being ON. Why? because it NEEDS to be on. Why? 1 life to live each match for the most part. I will be in assault and heavy battlemechs, you cross my path at the wrong moment and get nailed by an alpha strike or a gauss rifle, you deserve to get blown up. Pay attention to your surroundings. If the risk of FF is there for those defending our nations, then, by all rights, it is good enough for you and me.

I believe from another 'Ask the Devs' post, FF is already in game. And it's a good thing too, make it so that people can't just spam out lasers etc

I want it. It will force teams to use better tactics and teamwork instead of someone just arriving at the battle start lobbing SRMs or lasers into the mix hoping to hit the enemy.

Absolutely gotta have FF. Missiles should have to be specifically targeted at a friendly to lock on, but everything else is fair game. If you shoot at a team mate they should take damage, hence hurting your team's chances of winning.

It can be a neat idea sometimes but the effort needed to police it and the sheer amount of people who would ruin their team's chances of winning just for the sake of it make it a bad idea as a baseline. All it takes is a single person. And in a game that costs nothing to register, there exists no real way to prevent this from happening. What are you going to do? Tie accounts to credit cards and ban the cards?

It just makes the game harsher on newer players, too. They're the most likely to miss and accidentally ruin a team mate. Being a new player shouldn't be punished.

Though I can understand killing some **** who stole your hard earned kill in say a Jenner after your Centurion or Hunchback did all the work.


I think I've heard somewhere (in the preview videos?) that you get points for the damage you do. So, kill steal should be a non issue.

Also, it's always a dick move to team kill. Unless you're protecting yourself in self defense.

while locking onto an enemy is fine, and the missiles SHOULD, in theory HIT the enemy, what if lets say, you have locked onto an enemy Raven or Jenner and suddenly your friendly Atlas stomps in the way after your volley is on its way, there are even odds in hitting the Atlas as well as the Jenner/Raven, simply because its a large cluster of missiles coming in. Kinda a shot gun spread if you will.

IN actuality...depending on how they handle the servers..>They could have both FF and Non-FF servers....

i would think no friendly fire would make people fire wildly at anything they see and ruin the game basicly friendly fire should just maybe only be 50% so it aint instant kill by accidental fire.

i know this makes room for greifers and tking and and intentional TD but as i understand if people a tirred of that they can make their own merc companies with people they know that wouldnt do that so they will only be fighting with people that wouldnt shoot them on purpose,

another reason is that no fps is succesfull with no friendly fire you guys all know that all fps have friendly fire for a reason it sells more people like it better and i for one would like this game to take off and become as big as possible people just like that you have to have skill to get kills without wasting your friends in the process its a fact of gaming life!

all damage done by weapons should ALWAYS be 100% strength no matter WHO you are hitting.
