Jade falcon for jealousy and pigheadedness (from what I've seen in mw4)

MW4 has by far the worst representation of the Clans.
To add insult to injury, one the arrogant Falcon commanders is named Ter Roshak. Why is this such a problem you might ask?

Well read the Jade Phoenix trilogy, the guy sacrificed his entire career so Aidan Pryde would once again pilot a mech in battle. He dies a horrible death in a dishonorable unit but he's okay with that since he succeeded with getting Aidan restored as a warrior.

Not to mention the Jade Falcons are the clans that essentially have the first Civil Rights movement when it comes to clan social progress. Diana Pryde is a freeborn bloodnamed and Horse is a legend remembered. Put that in your IS no upward mobility bong and smoke it.

To be fair social progress in the clans is an exception not a rule.

Even your examples are pretty much legendary characters, none of them are "average" citizen of the clans who manages to work their way to the top.

Not that it doesn't happen of course but the clans are still far more rigid in their social classes than the IS.

I never knew Diana was bloodnamed. What book did it happen in? I haven't read many novels, but I adore the Jade Phoenix trilogy.

It happens in the twilight of the Clans series, I still need to re-read those, so I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.

It's 3049, the clans have existed for a while now.
So when they come, which one should I join, if I do join?

Originally (If memory serves), The Star League was before IS and Clan. Someone did something others didn't like, and the original Ilkhan took a segment of forces, and broke off and went his own way. The Clans returned (A LONG time later) in an attempt to reunite all of humanity into the Star League again.

The Clan Bloodnames are all the names of the original warriors who left with the Ilkhan.

Oh yeah, the Falcons would have made Horse their Khan, right?

Yes, yes they would. But they already had the infinitely better Marthe Pryde currently in that office. Also, Clan warriors earn their positions. I don't see a Liao at the end of your name, so apparently you should try to be born better next time.

To clarify: At the end of the Amaris war, General Aleksaner Kerensky found that the entire Cameron line (rulers of the terran hegemony and the traditional leaders of the Star League) had been exterminated by Stefan Amaris. This created a serious question as to who would lead, and all signs pointed to a brutal civil war between each of the Major Noble houses (Who were also looking hungrily at the devestated and leaderless reamins of the hegemony).

Realizing that the successor states inteneded to disband the starleague and repurpose it for the civil war, Aleksander chose to walk into exile, and 80% of the SLDF would follow him in his journey beyond the edge of known space. These people would eventually become the clans.

Thanks for the clarification. It's been a LONG time since I have read any of the older lore. Now that I have some income, I can buy a few books again... :)
