Why the immersion factor is invulnerable.

This is also the reason why I was a little worried about a MW MMO. I'm personally a part of the "BT is serious business" crowd, immersion = gameplay in my mind.
But this is a MMO, and there are going to be Bronies with rainbow lasers, Goons with zerg rushes, and Mechassault fans with hordes of badly configured Timberwolves. Everyone has their own playstyle, and not everyone agrees with each other...
... But in the MW universe, if everyone agreed with each other, why would they do nothing but kill each other with giant robots for over 300 years?

1. I know it's not an open world, but if you look at TF2, there's still a ton of crap people can pull.
2. SPLAS + MPLAS + LPLAS + spamming everywhere
3. WAS worried. And I'm bored; I didn't get beta and I can't afford founders.

Sorry about your luck, mate. Hopefully though, since the lasers are red green and blue respectively, if they're fired all at once it should just look white.

And yes there will be bronies but they can't craft rainbow lasers and pony armor for their Atlases, so, again, not a MMO. Pony colored Mechs, sure, they could have done that in the BT universe. If they want to stick out like a girl in an all boys high school.
Besides, you haven't played it yet and comparing this to what goes on in TF2 is about as off the mark as you can get.

Sigh... this is not MMO... It is MWO... Why don't ppl understand their acronyms? To say this is MMO is to say that CoD is MMO. Nobody ever called it that. Hence dissimilar status. This is what ppl enjoyed when more thought was involved than the mere hack N slash or run N gun play style that ppl take for granted nowadays. Put some THOUGHT into it, and you are guaranteed to enjoy the game. End of story and end of transmission.

Semantics, semantics.
The definition of MMO seems to be:
Quote
And depending on how MWO is going to work, with its persistent world, I'd argue that the MMO label applies; but to each his or her own.
More on topic:
I do not share the poster's fear of lack of immersion factor. The campaigns in the mechwarrior 2 games, as well as mechwarrior 3, were great! - Not so much with mechwarrior 4, though.
However, what mechwarrior 4 had going for it was the multiplayer aspect - and you could immerse yourself just as much as you wanted to. The people playing mw4 online ranged from people who roleplayed to an extreme degree, to people, who could only be described as "very relaxed". And it honestly never caused any issues, if you ask me.
If you have a serious problem with other people not "roleplaying their part" in the mech stomping fun that is MWO, this is not the game for you.
Otherwise: Find a good unit that has the same values as you do and take it from there.

As am I. OH well I'm sure people like Douglas will end up chocking on their words when they end up on the receiving end of a Pinkie pie mech's AC/20 party canon.
