Played on Kali as Hellfire6 or Disposable Hero (cannot recall which). Served under Maverick in the Gray Death Legion in Astral Dominion League I and under him in Clan Steel Viper for Astral Dominion League II. Looking for any former members.

wouldn´t say we have this many views JUST because of the familiarity of GDL

A bit about me, I started playing Battletech as a table top game shortly after it was released, (think I still have the rev 0 rules somewhere). I have all rules up to maximum tech. I have played every Battletech PC game ever made (starting with the Crecent Hawk's Inception on the C-64 I believe), and have read every novel through "End Game". I perfer heavy or assault mechs and love jump jets (grasshopper or highlander since we're limited to 3039), but lean more towards ballistic weapons (AC's and LRM's) over lasers and PPC's.

While I haven't played mechwarrior games online, I have been playing EvE Online for the last 6 years, so PvP games are well known to me. Ever since MW4 finished, I have been waiting for the next MW game, it appears to finally be approaching. While my loyalities have always leaned towards House Davion, House Steiner has been a close second.

I know the history of the GDL very well (as a warm up for MWO release, I've begun re-reading Decision at Thunder Rift ), my main questions for the GDL is will this be a role playing corp and will this be a true merc or be aligning more closely w/House Steiner (this one really won't bother me either way as I really just want to center my targeting reticle on an enemy mech and unload an alpha strike, just curious).

This will be a group who focuses on fun and enjoying MWO for what it is: An (amazing!!) game of 'mech combat and tactics. That said, I enjoy the odd roleplay session style game when I have time (which isn't much lately, sadly) and for those that want to do it, I encourage you have fun however you choose! As for our stance. I don't know how things are going to work with Merc units yet. I'd like to remain a true merc corp that tends to favor contracts from Steiner based sources as it were, but doesn't mind working for another house so long as it doesn't cause loss of faction or reputation with Steiner.

GDL_Vaylen reporting for duty! I have already posted to the forums on the Legions site and signed up for Mektek, not sure if there is anything else I need to do but I am up and ready for action!

I downloaded MW4 Mercs from Mektek to warm up and get back in the groove. I used to play mostly Capture the Flag and Team Deathmatch, and let me tell you Capture the Flag with Battlemechs was brutal fun, mere seconds to aim and blow apart wicked fast mechs trying to run off with your flag, fighting your way up field to cover your own runners, or running in with passive radar weaving through the firepower of assault mechs to grab the enemy flag... so much fun.

So ready to get back in the saddle and get down to some wicked awesome team play, I love running scouting or swift attacks, getting in the mix or simply waiting for that order to flank the enemy.

*Salutes.* I fell in love with mechwarrior thanks to the books about the Gray Death Legion, seeing Caryle corner a Locust with a few grunts and some beat up old hover vehicles, beating down a Crusader and Maurader with just his Shadowhawk, the Legion facing down a Lance of much heavier mechs in a wicked standoff battle... it was just so awesome I went and bought Mechwarrior soon as I could.

Truly they are a legion beyond all others!

As I re-read the old BT books, I found this great line from Warrior En Garde (I had forgotten this one):

Narimasa's head came up and he looked hard at Tarukito. "Be wary, Tarukito-kun, for the Gray Death Legion is not that far behind Wolf's Dragoons or the Kell Hounds in deadliness."
