I am curious what drove everyone to click on the $120 offer. In my case, it was community warfare in general, hoping for an in-depth implementation of factions.

What hit your spot?

EDIT: New option for the poll, Support Development in General (no feature in particular).

Same here.

(also the pain of choosing between the sexy catapult and different layout atlas)

Hmm... that shatters my faith in inherent selfishness. :-) In my case, "supporting the developer" translates to me as: "the developer is promising me something I Want". :-)

After all, $120 is a fair bit of change. I would have trouble thinking of this as a charitable donation; the developers are making something I really am after -- in my case that being Community Warfare.

So the poll stands with the addition of "Why did you donate $120 to help..." :-)

it was a case of 'take my damn money'

if there were higher tiers, i'd quite possibly have gone there too

i think a lot of people are just happy that a 'real' mechwarrior game is being made after all these years, and want to do everything they can to make sure it sees the light of day and is worth the wait.

So true!

Therefore I also choose the "support the developpers" option.

I love Mechwarrior since 15 Years and this is it - really. Now I just have to remember how to steer a Mech without embarrasing actions

Okay, but when you choose "support the developers" -- why? :-) Thats what I'm after. What aspect of the game intrigues you most? In my case it was "take my damn money" -- i Want CW!

What was it that got you hooked... :-)

You forgot "to have my name in the credits".

I won't lie, that little tidbit put a grin on my face.

LOL. That's awesome NotSid. I think someone datamined the forum to reveal that there are over 10K legendary founders.

I'm picturing 2-font sans-serif scrolling at warp 10. :-)

Ezrekiel,

What made you want to support the developers? :-) Was it a random impulse to donate? Or did something in particular attract you to the game?

They seemed like genuine BattleTech fans to me, and I felt communication with the players was good. They actually listened to the community and showed much promise of this game being nearer to BattleTech than, for example, Mechwarrior 4 was.

So when they had troubles finding enough investors, I thought it a good idea to support them.

I haven't bought it yet, but I might for the mechs + support + getting my name in the project. (If the offer still exists when I can afford to upgrade.)

Take a look at the gaming industry. There are so many garbage games... I mean the industry is milking their cash cows. They make good games even more casual in order to reach a wider target audience to gain their EBIT`s and making their investors happy. And who is making the gamers happy?
Developing a game on PC only is risky. But you need really big balls to make a game with heavy hardware requirements in a niche setting on a single platform. From a financial perspective it`s like opening a tanning saloon on Mars

Now I`m the investor and they have to make me happy! And they do

Wanted all the perks. These extra skins and boosts are permanent. A year from now players will be envying me but unable to get them. Heh they'll pay 110$ just for the MC and Premium on the Legendary. My 120$ got me that, and 4 Mechs(Which are 45$ for all 4) with skins and boosts. Or I could just use my 80$ worth of MC for +8 months of Premium. Regardless of how I use my account I got the bargain.

There's also the +4 Mechbay slots since these Mechs don't use up space. But they may remove this cap and just make it limitless anyway.

@Bluten,

Yeah. :-) All very good reasons to buy the Legendary. I'll admit to thinking those. Mainly I was thinking "When other house faction players are struggling to pay for running their mech, I'll be on easy street..." <chortles merrily>
