Responsible Behavior

1. Founders status does not mean you are special - Just because you paid money does not mean you have special priveledges or that you are in some way better than those that have not. Whether or not someone pays to play, they are members of the community and deserve the same respect as anyone who has a Founder's tag.
2. Quit Trolling - Just because you have an emotional response to someone's post does not mean that you have to reply to it with insults or inanities. It may or may not be "normal" for people to be rude to strangers on the web, but that does not justify the behavior. Try to be an example of community instead one of the "business as usual" masses.
3. Consequences - Think about what you are doing. Once you put your behavior in the public eye, especially the web, it is potentially there forever. There is a picture thread here. If you post a pic to it, then make ill mannered comments, you might be recognized. Do you want to not get the job because someone who is interviewing you "knows" your behavior on MWO?
Summary - It costs you nothing to be a decent person on the forums, but being a jerk could cost you in and out of the game.

The best way to deal with such people is to just ignore them, and if it get out of hand report them to the mods and let them deal with it.
Talking about it or discussing it on the forums will not help.
Everything you mention is part of the CoC which everyone have to agree to when coming to these forums, if people cant follow the CoC the mods will deal with them, worst case they get banned.

That said, the MW-community seems to be one of the most mature ones around the internet, I've seen far worse...
Everyone has a bad day every now and again and I have said a couple of "not-nice" things when I was in a bad mood, the important thing is that you're able to admit that you misbehaved if something like that happened and are able to apologize, which seems to be quite rare on the internet though...
Damit, ninjad!

This, personally I don't mind people experssing their dislike towards what I said and I'm always more than willing to learn if I'm wrong about a certain subject...
So long as the person fixing my mistake is intelligent enough to give valid reasoning in a mature way I don't see anything wrong with being "attacked" for being wrong. So long as the attacker can back up why with good points in a intelligent and more or less mature manner.
I've noticed that most people here in the MWO community do just that.

As always never give the types of people you describe the pleasure and satisfaction of acknowledging them at all .

Well, that kind of thinking makes something like that possible.
I mean, have you met a person in real world that acted the same way as trolls on the internet? People must accept they should behave accordingly, even when they can't be punished directly.

Sadly nowadays its expected there will be Trolls , idiots , rude and unpleasant behavior , because most of the time its kids knowing they can say what they like without any comebacks , Unfortunately for them the MW community will not tolerate it in game or out , In my experience any bad behavior will result in getting booted from clans/merc groups and shunned and this is a team based game and these sorts of players will quickly find out the hard way its not fun on ya own .

Have to disagree with this one. Paying money does give you special priveledges(sic): you get into the beta and are able to play the game before everyone else that didn't pay. It also means you support the game enough to invest in it at an early state and does deserve more respect than someone just signing up for the forums and nothing else.

I think the OP was referring to "respect as a person", in terms of how people treat you in a conversation. Not in terms of Beta access.

Well I like free speech, personally, and I don't like the idea of someone telling you how you should or shouldn't behave. If someone chooses to be mature and rational, then that's great. If someone wants to be a trolling nitwit, then they can suit themselves too, and we can smack them down and make fun of them.
Telling people not to troll, however, is really just a thin veneer of civility that we have just made up to make ourselves feel like we're above others. Sure, if we follow the very premise of free speech, then you are free to tell people not to troll. I just disagree with your behavior of telling people how they ought to behave.
