Medium: Bushwacker. I know this game is supposed to take place in real time but I wouldn't mind them messing with lore to get this three years sooner. Probably my second favorite mech after the timber wolf.
Heavy: I'm assuming the timber wolf is guaranteed because this is a mechwarrior game. My wishful thinking mech would be a fresh take on the Black Knight. It was first in the games in Mech 4: Black Knight with a snazzy redesign, but it was around in the timeline for hundreds of years. I would be incredibly interested to see piranha put their own spin on this mech, both in lore and in visual design, especially considering how good looking their visual redesigns of classic mechs have been.
The Black Knight is pretty much a blank slate, so it would be a great mech for piranha to go wild with.

On the other hand a Warhammer, Marauder or a Crusader would be nice too. Dunno how they wanna do it with the SRM in the legs when you are staying in water.
Medium would be most likely a Wolverine, P-Hawk or a Hunchback.
Small is Wolfhound or Panther.
Assault Kraken, highlander or Victor.

I know it's a clan mech, but too bad!

not counting clan ones (or late-model inner sphere ones like the Fafnir) it gets a little trickier for me

Oh yeah, and a Thor. that thing totally pwned in mw3. Once I salveged one, I used it for the rest of the campain. Loaded 'er up with ER lasers and heatsinks... Oh, man, that was fun!

Its light, very fast, and still packs a good punch. Also for scout mechs as well the Red Shift (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Red_Shift) would be a nice mech, especially with its TAG system.
Med mechs i would have to say the Arctic Wolf (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Arctic_Wolf) quick SRM boat with a NARC system for its SRMS and also calling in LRM support, the Grim Reaper (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Grim_Reaper) unique looking Med Mech with a good mix of speed and firepower.
Heavy Mechs i would go with definitely the Penetrator (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Penetrator) Archer Christifori was amazing in this, also great for hit and run with it not relying on ammo. And also the Ceasar (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Caesar)
Assault mech i would go with the Pillager (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Pillager) would be really sweet to see in game, and the Devastator (http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Devastator) would also be really sweet to see in game.
Sorry for the long post but these mechs are some of my favorites!
Edit- Also, one last mech i would like to see is the Summoner (http://www.sarna.net...Summoner_(Thor). Especially with all the sweet redesigns going on.
