No worries, the unit name (and appearance) will definitely not be as described in these posts, Zectorman. Just a bit of harmless entertainment until the game starts.
But the original threat post still remains on what such a unit could be named and composed of in-game.
Oh i know, no worries.
If its going to be a House Unit lets give it a name like the "Jade Guard" or something Capellan imperial like

If you are a loyal Clan warrior as you say (and a Galaxy Commander to boot) would it not be logical for you to refer to your 'mech by its original CLAN name, instead of going by what us freebirth barbarians call it?
You talk of many people underestimating your 'mech also, yet I believe that is the same as to what you doing to me and my accomplishments at piloting a Crab...
Go the Hawaiian Fuzzy Bunnes!
My apologies Tafalia, I wouldnt have wanted you to get it confused with a Catapult. After all I hear the IS education system isnt exactly..top notch

The "Jade Guards" sounds pretty decent, or it could be the "Emerald Guards" or... whatever. I will add the name to the voting list and see what the good people who decide to sign up in it like best. It is after all, a unit for the wards and citizens alike.

I have studied the Clans a good deal and do not get confused easily as far as they are concerned. It is the Inner Sphere that, surprisingly, I have difficulty remembering the most. Boardwalk is not exactly a thorough-fare planet, after all.

A Crab pilot for near on 18 years. Being designed to perform as a guerilla style combat 'mech loaded out only in energy weapons as well as heavily armoured (not to mention a mighty fine Magna 250 engine to boot) allows my little darling to get up close and personal in any combat and get out with a minimum of fuss.
Such a sexy looking machine.

I think I'd like to be a part of the 2nd Confederation Reserve Cavalry. There are several reasons for this.
1) I'm not sure how much time I am going to have to commit to the House and/or the MWO community after launch. My professional life is kind of up in the air right now. Since this is the case, I figure being a stalwart but non-prestigeous/non-crucial part of the CCAF would probably be best.
2) The 2nd CRC ('Capella's Bright Edge') are from (you guessed it!) the planet Capella: home of Ceres Metals, proud producers of the venerable VND series of BattleMechs (I'm REALLY hoping my Vindicator will be in this game!!). If possible, I'll be piloting a Vindi most of the time. Again, this will probably be convenient since the Vindi is capable of filling almost any role. Therefore I should be able to be of some use to someone whenever I'm online.
3) Unlike most reserve units in the CCAF, the CRC regiments have the mandate to serve throughout the Confederation. Again, this should give me the flexibility to help out wherever I'm needed.
4) Finally, the 2nd CRC managed to survive the Fourth War intact, something that is pretty important to remember since we're now in 3049!

I'd like to see a new Scot led unit in the Capellan Confederation that is independent of the Northwind Highlanders, much like MacGregor's Armored Scouts or McCrimmon's Light Cavalry. It was sad to see so much tradition lost in the 4th Succession War through the destruction and defection of units.
The unit would certainly attract Highlanders who are still loyal to the Confederation, and could serve as a focal point for the ultimate return of the Northwind Highlanders.

That is actually a good idea, I have focused too much on the NWH's return alone when so many other worlds, especially many with Scot roots, were lost and now we have many of our kin. I will therefore continue my goal of liberating Northwind but instead will do so as part of a cohesive and combied CAPELLAN unit rather one of Northwind descendants.

McCrimmon's Light Cavalry, MacGregor's Armored Scouts, Preston's Lancers...
These are just a few of the many Capellan units that I'm really hoping someone attempts to reform. Would be so awesome if folks picked up on these.
