I realize it's sort of your "job" to rile up rival factions...but I resent that one. Thought I made it clear that they're plenty of other reasons to do so (and if they didn't my updated profile might).

Also a quote: "The Lyran Commonwealth is also classically known for inept military commanders, who gain their status through social settings and favors rather than training and skill – often hailing from rich families. This has been known as a crippling factor for the Successor State, as their equipment and technology easily outpaced their rivals in the first three Succession Wars. The trend of poor commanders continued into the Federated Commonwealth era and continued into the civil war, doubtlessly leading to their eventual defeat."

Very true--especially in my case. Biirth and contacts got me here. However, if you wish to believe they kept me here for the last 24 years...well, more fool you.

Oh yeah...and you might want to open up your throttle a bit. My Dervish is catching up fast.

Don't let Adridos get to you. He's been trying to cause trouble anywhere he can. I can't believe how many times my intelligence has been insulted or my judgement questioned. Just let him roll off your back and laugh. Remember after all - he has to go back to the Confederation when he's done causing trouble.

Only mechs you use are the biggest and the ones with most "DAKKA, DAKKA,..." effect in them. Becoming a mechwarrior, or (help God) commander is through "butt kissing" as we call it.

And teaming up with Daviots?! You watched as they've stolen all your money and then kicked you out.

In my opinion, Lyrans are the dumbest of the IS, with no real skills. And that is quiet an accomplishment, since "Being stupid is hard, because competition is always high.", and Daviots are really tough opponents. :D

We Lyrans are aware that the Capellan Confederation is known neither for the quality of its educational system nor for free and open access to information. And so, it is unsurprising that he is unaware that the Atlas AS7-D has a well-stocked LRM-20 launcher, or that he mistakes the pursuing Griffons for Assault mechs.

Still, one would hope that even a rudimentary mechwarrior would recognize that long range missiles and PPC blasts are difficult to outrun--especially at low throttle settings. But then, Capellans are experts at ignoring unpleasant facts and truths--a necessary consequence of living in a dictatorial regime equipped with thought-police.

Pretty strange advice from someone who will make a bigger backstab to them, than Capellans ever did from the beggining of the universe. ;)

As for the non-assault pursuers, where did you get those? This is a recruitment station and Steiners always need to show the biggest mechs they have to newcommers. :D

And I'm not that stupid not to use jetpacks and cover if you'll try to fire one me. B)

And thats the reason why other houses think that Steiner pilots are dumb.
To travel in to the back of an enemy and get loose some shots is inefficient - actual it is a waste of ammunition because most mechs don't have such a strong rear armor. SRMs, lighter ACs, medlaser , possible under some circumstances even the large laser are for shoting into the back.
AC 20 is for frontal use...therefor it was made
however the UAC20 is a development of the '60s actual we have the 50's so good luck to find a UAC20. The next weapon to this is the AC20 - and is widely used by the ConCap (urbanmech, charger, highlander...) hope you see the ironies

Yes, but you still have 4 other locations you can hit from the rear that DON'T have weak armor (legs, and arms, right and left sides respectively) If I hit one of those, I want it to hurt anyway. If I get lucky and actually hit the rear armor on the torso then ouch.

Good catch on the UAC/20 not being avalible until 3060 though. That slipped my mind.

Why House Steiner?

- Right to Assembly
- Freedom of Speech
- Freedom of the Press
- Free Market Economy
- Powerful industrial base and quite possibly a recession-proof economy
- More assault 'mechs
- Statuesque women of German descent
- Sauerkraut (Corrected the spelling - thanks, Henry Pride!)
- Bratwurst
- Probably the best beer and chocolate in the Inner Sphere
- Ice Palaces
- Excuse to listen to Rammstein and KMFDM while playing MWO

You don't need an excuse for the last one. :D

How's Romano Liao working out for ya?

*laughs as Adridos' battlemech eats dirt as a full fusillade of PPCs, lasers, gauss rounds, and missiles rip it apart.*

I've yet to see a battlemech that's faster than what it fires.

Are some Locust variants not able to outrun a Arrow IV?

@ Evinthal
I had made once a mistake and moved a Hunchback in the back of a Awesome. I hit im in the back and was credited with the destruction of a heat sink - while a light mech used his M-Laser to hit my Hunchback in the back...and destroyed him.
So i don't like it to place a AC 20 when a medium laser can do the same damage

Steiner makes my favorite 'mechs, so they're my favorite house. What better reason is there?

Commandos, Wolfhounds, Mirages, all utterly dominant chassis. *dreamy eyes*

I played House Steiner way back during the failed release of "Battletech 3025". It was fun to smashy the pathetic FWL. I hope this game feels a bit like that one.

Isn't Katrina Stiener-Davion gonna start a massive civil war with her brother Victor,
who is the rightful leader of the FedCom?

refer to the future civil war here:
http://www.sarna.net...edCom_Civil_War

As such (unfortunately as the events of the future are known) it is hard to look at house Steiner
in any good light eventhough none of these have occured yet.

Why would you knowingly choose to side with an forthcoming ursuper ?
(assuming you are the decent sort that is ..)

Discuss :P

Because declaring for House Steiner in no way requires us to support Katherine Steiner-Davion.

In fact, it would force some of us to oppose her.

Plus you have to take into consideration that they have a German background and well that means the best equipment.
