Then I thought about how close "Urbie" and "Zombie" sound.
So, if you were on a planet that was being overrun by UrbanMechs piloted by zombies, which 'mech/battlearmor would you want to be in?
Some people said that they wanted a really fast 'mech so they could get to a dropship, so for this scenario let's assume that there are no dropships on planet, but several are arriving in 6 weeks.

Hell yes, lets write the ultimate "Urbie Survival Guide"!

Admittedly, it has a pretty high heat curve. But, I'd prefer to do as little shooting as possible anyway. With 6 weeks until the dropships arrive, regular combat with little (if anything) in the name of supplies would be a bad idea no matter how heavy my armor is.

Really, the Black Knight or the Panther, alternatively, Blackhawk and Nova Cat, if you're a clanner, are great choices, all being quite faster than the Urbie and potentially able to last thorough the apocalypse; if money isn't a problem, and you don't mind Clan technology, the Linebacker is probably the best choice, though.

As soon as the dropships arrive I would be gone...
Hmm... having a cattle or bison or something available to bait the zombies out of the Urbies could work, too... shooting and trampling on the zombies would be rather easy then. In this case big feet would come in handy... and that's a job for something like the Stalker

A nice quote on an Urbie "Will fight for brains!".

Urbie's store that AC-10 ammo somewhere. Let's just say, if you can overheat and set one off, the hoard will follow. Snap Crackle Pop.
If an UrbanMech is on fire, does it have double hp?

Anyways, I'd choose a Madcat MKII and hide in the water and only come out for food and repairs. And when the dropship comes.

I thought about a LAM but where you going to refuel for the flight engines?

After all why does no one use the same technology in "conventional ASF" and safe the several tons worth of fuel you have to load onto them?
I'd still go with my choice from the zombie thread.
Raven RVN-3L, but with a dual cockpit instead of the TAG, for all the same reasons.
The GECM keeps me hidden from the zombies, and at the same time I can stay at a distance due to my far faster mech and my better electronics.
Dual cockpit allows me to bring a friend with me who can pilot and keep watch while I'm sleeping and gives us enough space to store food and drinks in.
