GKMT

The Grey Knights are a specialized, private team of mechwarriors. We are a small group of players, who are mostly new to MMO's, but at home in an RPG. We are competitive, but play for fun. We do not live on the game, but can hold our own in any engagement. Currently, we have three members. We are real-life friends, and will likely remain an exclusive team; however, we wish to coordinate with other units as supplementary/spec-ops forces.

Further biographical information will be posted later.

GKMT: General Rules for Combat

1) Bring a gun (preferably, at least two - and the bigger, the better)

2) Armor increases you chances of surviving

3) Paint jobs are cool: and cool is good (camouflage is coolest)

4) A slow target is an easy target (a fast one is harder)

5) A fast-moving target is highly noticeable

6) A kill is good: winning is better

(more to come, soon)

I took 1st in the Solaris Grand Championship, on Veteran difficulty, with aThanatos. I killed 4 or 5 'Mechs, and mounted a Clan Ultra AC10, an ER Large Laser, an SRM6, and an LBX AC10.

I also took 2nd with a Wolfhound (same difficulty), mounting an ER PPC and an ER Large Laser. I killed two 'Mechs: a Vulture (Fen Cheng) and a Daishi (Srin Odessa).

I consider myself pretty accomplished (not overly), and I anticipate that my skills will transfer comparably to MWO. I am not a career-player, but I am good - not the best, but good nonetheless.

Thanks, and good luck to you too.

GKMT: General Rules for Combat (continued)

7) Losing builds character

8) Winning builds ego

9) Your opponent is good, until you beat him

10) The best arsenal is the one that leaves a charred husk where your enemy stood

11) The goal of a fight is to make your enemy look as ugly as possible

12) If you get hit, hit your enemy harder

13) Battle revolves around luck; the bigger your gun, the more you have of it

14) Armor increases your luck

I like how easy it is to mispronounce this unit's name.

Anyway, I know I'm intruding on your team talk here, but, I just wanted to say, I'm glad to see how there's a smaller, tight-knit group of players such as yours making preparations for this game - there's nothing like fighting besides people whom you can trust, and this can make all the difference if you come up against a larger company, which you probably will.
So, good luck to you guys.

That's fine - the more, the merrier. We're just getting into our roles  The others will have to speak for themselves; but I'm more of the fun-loving, tough fighter. I'm a better pilot than I am gunner, but I'm working on honing my skills on MW4: Black Knight.

We anticipate getting smashed a few times, but we won't stay down B) Thanks, and good luck to you too!

Coralld here from Sea Wolves Merc unit to say we look forward to working with you guys and to give your thread a bit of a bump as a friendly gesture. BerserX, thanks for being interested in contracting us, even though it is still has yet to be determined how contracts will play out as of yet, just know though your units name is on a list of contacts.

Thanks Coralld. BerserX has been a bit pre-occupied with school the last two days, so he hasn't been on the forum much. I'll let him know about your post. We're a lance of three at the moment and are all looking forward to the game. Depending on how the contract system works out, I look forward to fighting with...or against...you and your clan. :)

Out of curiosity, will Sea Wolves have a presence in Mechwarrior Tactics as well?

Man, I love your signature! That's awesome.

I paraphrased the first rule from a poster I saw (probably should have included something about it), but the others are mostly my ideas. My favorite ones are the last two.

Whether or not we fight alongside each other, it's good to meet you. That's what we need more of in America: an old-fashioned outlook on how things really are, and the way they ought to be. I like the quote: "An unarmed man is a subject; an armed man is a citizen."

By the way, what corps/company are you with?

BerserX, reporting: Training Sequence One complete [reinforcement of Kentares Free Army, and elimination of Lyran Major Dupree]; Training Sequence Two in action [wave attrition, and guerrila tactics]

Prepping for imminent contact...
