In all seriousness my bet is the Zeus. I keep trying to find a trend (manufacturer, year, etc.) in the mechs they are releasing but no luck yet.

Any of the unseen would be great. Barring that, I would like to see either the Grasshopper or Orion for the heavies, and Stalker or Zeus for the Assault class.

Honestly though, I will be blissfully happy with whatever FD comes up with. One more mech is more awesomeness added to the sauce....

Ummm.... did I say 'awesomeness"? Yeah, I guess you can throw that into my choices too. Don't want to get slapped around by the Awesome Brigade.... Hey, now there's a name for a Mech unit for ya! :D

Nightstar was only produced for 1 year, over two centuries (closer to 3) prior to the Clan Invasion. I guess that's "available".

The Devastator would be a DELIGHTFUL direct fire support mech.

Ummm, I think you are a little bit late....

Behold, The Catapult!

Paul called me this weekend and said he would take pity on me and make sure the Marauder would be in there soon.

Then he called back and all I heard was laughing.

He wasn't wearing his PGI tag, couldn't you see that over the phone?

According to sarna (take as you will since its a wiki) the nightstar has been back in production for some time now... and the Devastator has only begun production in 3048

Also anyone noticed that we havent seen ANY mech with IS level 2 tech yet?

update pattern has gone heavy, medium, light... So I'd guess we were in for an assault.
Last mech was Lyran... I'd trend toward a DCMS design.... at 3048.. hmm

Ahoi.

New Mechs should be less powerful, i think.
If we are getting good mechs permanently, there is no reason to take the "normal" mechs. but these mechs carry the story of BattleTech.
I know, everyone wants to be the hero of the novel but two lances of Atlas or Awsomes which are fighting each other arn`t "true" to the story.

According to the Master Unit List, the NSR-9J was produced in 2767. It appears that it wasn't until 3057 that it and the NSR-9FC go into production. In 3065, you get the NSJ-9SS.

In the 3058 TRO, we get the following:

Quote

Unfortunatly, the 'Mech became a casualty of the Succession Wars. Three months after the First Succession War began, Norse-Storm's primary production facility for the Nightstar was destroyed by Marik troops. At the same time, several members of the GM design team died in a freak accident at GM's plant on Kathil. Two hundred and fifty years would pass before GM and Norse-Storm recovered enough technological expertise to put the Nightstar back into production.

The First Succession War began in 2786. That puts the restart of production in 3036 at the VERY earliest. Further, it requires technology recovered and decoded from the Helm Memory Core. The latest being the Gauss Rifle which wasn't reintroduced until 3040, by the FWL (ironically, the people who destroyed the factory in the first place). If you look at the Deployment section of the TRO, it sounds like there are very limited numbers of them out there, which would support the fact that they've only been back in production for a short period of time.

Quote

The Nightstar has seen limited combat with the mercenary units Storm's Metal Thunder and the Blackstone Highlanders, who have raided several clan-held worlds in the Jade Falcon occupation zone. Various units in the Lyran Alliance military are reported to deploy Nightstars, including the First Lyran Guards. The Federated Commonwealth has stationed several Nightstars with units along the Periphery border.
Nothing I've found is definitive, but I'd go with the 3057 date for reintroduction.
