I'm not as in love with the Awesome as some but I definitely would like to see it if only to ensure the inclusion of the PPC. How they could launch this game minus such an iconic weapon is beyond me.

I agree..

BUT Because it would be one less thing to worry about at launch, they could launch without it and work on it and the Awesome as one of the first big "Releases" after launch.. Right up there with the Clans.

I rather them do things like pull the PPC, Awesome, etc.. for a quicker stable release and then add things as they get fleshed out and stablized.

That said I want tomorrow to prove me wrong and it be an Awesome and PPCs are in

The Zeus ZEU-6T has a PPC, so the Awesome isn't the only choice sporting that particular weapon platform

There are multiple mechs with PPCs (available after 2460) that predate 3049 by quite a bit. Not quite sure what some of you are referring to. We just have not had a mech that uses a PPC in its iconic/main variant yet.

Ya know what, with role warefare im gonna go with Cyclops, since we have two of every weight class except assault, and the Cyclops is a commanders mech par excellence.

Whatever it is, its gotta be one of these.

Without it, Capellans will not have any home-made mech useful for a normal encounter (well, we can still beat Daviots just in Ravens and Catapults).

I would personally like to see a Salamander or Highlander.
Please let the 8th mech be a Highlander.

I'd also love to see a Wraith but i'm not sure if that fits within the right time period or not.

I am skipping over specialized mechs (Jager and Firestarter) and obviously the Unseen (which I am confidant they will add in due to statements they have made). The Whitworth and Trebuchet have to support the Catapult as dedicated LRM boats so are needed IMO as battlefield artillery. I have also noticed that the Catapult and Jenner are the only jump mechs they have released (barring versions), so I can see more jump mechs being released.

I cannot agree more! Besides the Unseen that all community is looking forward to see again, the above mentioned mechs are the true basis of the battlefields and I can't imagine BT without them. Make us have all of them eventually.
My hottest anticipation list is equal to yours, but lacks all those 'maybe's =)
As for the next mech, let it be some great medium!

Yeah, I just can't see them doing a release of this game without those mechs. After they have the 3025 mechs, they can release 3050 mechs, specially when +50% of that book were from the 3025 TRO anyways. Besides, the best 20 ton mechs were Unseen! I gotta have my Stinger!

I believe the Wraith is 3058.

It seems about time to see a command mech in there, and they are shy an assault, currently. I'm voting Cyclops. I'd prefer a Battlemaster, but since the whole Unseen thing is still up in the air....

I say prefer loosely, though, as I'm not too big on any mech over 75 tons.
