Okay... If I get any more stoked for this game, I'm gonna become really annoying to everyone around me!

Wait... I already am.

Oh well. :)

So much win in just a minute and a half.. I can only hope the game can live up to it.

I was too busy oogling the trailer to really notice any of the finer details mentioned in this thread. After a second viewing, I noticed a couple, but missed quite a few.

Now that I've recovered from the initial shock of this reveal, I wonder...

Why remove the second missile launcher from the chest of the Atlas? Was it done for gameplay or balancing purposes? The twin launchers have always seemed rather significant to me--you notice when they're absent changed.

Also, I was never a big fan of different 'Mech models having radically different appearances, but after seeing some of the models in use in "MechWarrior: Living Legends", and how they managed to make the appearances of the different models noticable yet subtle, I am growing to like the idea. It looks like the appearance of the Swayback is following these same lines, to a degree.

Flying Debris (in this very thread) said it was because splitting the launcher between 2 torsos would cause problems. The original loadouts had the launcher in a single torso (of course. I don't think you could even split launchers like that). In addition, in one of the TROs, it is mentioned that there the Atlas mounts an 5 tube LRM that fires 4 missiles in quick succession for each salvo, making it an LRM 20. So now, we'll see an 10 tube LRM fire 2 missiles quickly instead.

I saw the video and then I heard the start up Betty voice, at that time my wallet tried to enter the Internet and reach PGI.

Correct the only weapon that could be mounted in two locations canonically was the heavy gauss rifle. (Can't remember off the top of my head if the Ultra AC/20 did that too or not.)

I really cannot wait for beat or GDC for that matter. :D

From Solaris7 (which, in turn, cites TRO 3025):

Quote

The Atlas' long-range missile delivery system is a unique design. Upon discovering that 20 launching tubes would not fit into the 'Mech's torso, the designers decided to install five tubes with a feed system that can shoot four salvos within ten seconds. The feed system is fairly reliable, and Techs need only worry about shielding the ammo from heat emitted from the nearby reactor. Reloading is quick, as each missile tube system has its own ammunition clip. Completely loaded, the missile system can shoot twelve salvos of 20 missiles. The large aperture between the two missile systems may look like another weapon, but it is the omnicoupling, where power and coolant cables can be attached to start up or repair the Atlas.

I have a idea, lets all post the same things that have been answered earlier in the thread over and over again!

I totally love seeing Alex Iglesias' beautiful artwork rendered into a massive, moving, war-machine!
So much win!
There seem to be a lot of doubters in the pc gamer's comment section though :/

I'm curious why there's a period in the spelling of "youtu.be"... that means it's not on the U.S.-hosted YouTube website... is it just a clever way to spell the URL for a foreign-hosting of youtube?

If you press share button under videos it will give you a shorter link for posting on boards like this.
It has nothing to do with hosting

That is pretty f'n awesome.

Incoming Lore nerd!!!

You used sibko incorrectly. A sibko would all be the same age, as they are all "birthed" at the same time. Thus, a 2 year old and a 3 year old would not come from the same sibko.

The above statement was made with nothing but love and respect, no trolling or flaming intended, as the community in general is pretty awesome. Can't wait to share the field of battle with you all.

Oh I know, but that is mostly with warrior caste, the other castes also use the term sibko, and I am using as my two sons are siblings, so it is a sibling company of my own. :P They are the Screaming Bear Sibko ;)

Oh, and as a note, my youngest son was distraught for a good 15 minutes crying 'my robot man, my robot man' I got a MechWarrior for sure here! Be careful, I will train him to uphold the glory and might of Clan Ghost Bear!
