It may be the middle of the day here - but after that I am reaching for a stiff glass of scotchy scotch, scotch.

So, as it stands - 3049 Easglesham, Lyran Commonwealth space north of Skye, small jump away from the Combine.

Can anyone identify the unit via number (205) from known cannon?

Anyone care to speculate on what 'appears' at first (well to me @ least ) to be kanjii?

Or is it just this (AF77), only weathered by age/battle.

I'm not sure, but I think it may be an homage to a Dropship done by Leigh Jacob. If you'll look at the nose of the Dropship below, you'll see the same type of number scheme, yet with 255 instead of 205.

Yeah yeah, we heard ya, and you got street cred, there's no denying that. :)

It's just that, when you hear someone use the word "epic" today.... it's really lost all its meaning.

If the Hot Drop begins with character introductions, then proceeds with an adventurous quest that evolves into a multi-pronged story of love, war, and survival, followed by an exciting conclusion that hinges upon all the various storyforks coming together at once... then, yes, Hot Drops will be epic.

Jumping from a spaceship flying at amazing speeds so high you think that ant is bigger in your 100 ton machine of doom, while listening to rock and thinking: "I am gonna kick some @$$!" B)

What more do you need for epicness? :D

What you need, is to be going down, munitions, and laser flying past you, as you desperately try to return fire. Then when you hit the ground, you hit it running, and immediately start ducking and dodging, while raining pure hell onto the enemy. Such good times I had... MAY WE RELIVE THEM!!!

Amazing freaking trailer. Artwork is great, graphics are great, cockpit is /amazing/. We do have one tiny, itty bitty problem though.

>.O It's "All systems Nominal," automated female computer voice *****.

I was too busy oogling the trailer to really notice any of the finer details mentioned in this thread. After a second viewing, I noticed a couple, but missed quite a few.

Now that I've recovered from the initial shock of this reveal, I wonder...

Why remove the second missile launcher from the chest of the Atlas? Was it done for gameplay or balancing purposes? The twin launchers have always seemed rather significant to me--you notice when they're absent changed.

Also, I was never a big fan of different 'Mech models having radically different appearances, but after seeing some of the models in use in "MechWarrior: Living Legends", and how they managed to make the appearances of the different models noticable yet subtle, I am growing to like the idea. It looks like the appearance of the Swayback is following these same lines, to a degree.

Flying Debris (in this very thread) said it was because splitting the launcher between 2 torsos would cause problems. The original loadouts had the launcher in a single torso (of course. I don't think you could even split launchers like that). In addition, in one of the TROs, it is mentioned that there the Atlas mounts an 5 tube LRM that fires 4 missiles in quick succession for each salvo, making it an LRM 20. So now, we'll see an 10 tube LRM fire 2 missiles quickly instead.

I'm okay with the 10-tube launcher firing 2 missiles out of each, but why move the LRM-10 to the shoulder when it was originally the 5-tube system on the hip? Where the (apparent) LRM-20 is located now is about where the SRM-6 should be. Where'd the SRM-6 go?

Freaking incredible guys. Love the trailer. As a longtime vet of Mech 2 ...Its About Time...
Now something to sink my teeth into. Now show as this Atlas dishing out some serious asskickery on the field. :)

I'd just like to point out how happy PGI must be that the only critique / complaint I have seen of this video is the use of the word "online" instead of "nominal".

Knocked it out of the park is an understatement. Well done, lads and lasses.

Blame Paul. I hear he accidentally ejected out of his Atlas while attempting to start it up, again, and it fell into PGI HQ, damaging some of their equipment and mucking things up while they were uploading.

Sure is, with 6 medium lasers instead of a AutoCannon 20, known as Swayback :D
