If theyre going to spiff it up, then I want to hear more systems online... coolant pressure online, neural feedback nominal, myomer network nominal, Gyro online and stabilized, or something like that. Also, if I have an AMS, I want to hear that sucker is online because it is a critical part of my defense. There really isn't any other defensive system that I would need to hear about.. Oh, and critical addons like BAP, ECM, Advanced Targeting Computer or Artemis IV FCS. Tell me those are fine as well before I go into combat. Give me the whole list because at startup I have some time.

Oddly enough, you only get a startup systems check on first startup. Throughout the rest of the game... you might shutdown due to heat soak and then startup again.. but you never hear the same checklist.. In order to get the same list where the voice might be distorted or the voice actually says a subsystem is offline or malfunctioning, it would need to start the list every time the reactor came back online.

Like I said, I think a few more critical items belong on the startup sequence list, but give us a key to silence it or else be able to adjust the volume for that particular audio channel.

I bet this was all Paul's plan to troll the community. Took a few bribes for Bryan and/or Russ to approve, but he did it.

Has anyone else picked up that they're saying "online" in order to tie into the last image you see of Mechwarrior Online on the floor?

Kudo's, really. I'm wondering who suggested getting the MW2:Merc "Battlemech Betty"...almost tempted to just have it stay like that so nominal could be used in other ways... if you get my drift.

I always figured that it was due to the start-up procedure being inherently different. When you first start up your 'Mech, it's a full start - you are bringing all your systems online from a completely shut down status. Meanwhile, when you're starting back up from a heat-shutdown or something of the sort, I've always figured that you are basically just coming out of a stand-by mode - the 'Mech's reactor and basic systems were still running, just locked up so that things could cool down ASAP.

As far as the people suggesting the voice being distorted and/or reporting damaged systems go, my understanding is that the intention is for that to happen if you go into battle without your 'Mech being in perfect condition. A system was damaged in a previous battle, you didn't get it fixed, and now Betty's letting you know it was a bad idea. Another suggestion is that Betty could report the systems being damaged as it happens during a battle, rather than/as well as upon your next start-up
