I want to take advantage of this free release. I am using windows 7 and got a .rar file but it says its incompatible with 64 bit

my problem as well and I already own the game and have all the discs and have every patch saved to a flash drive; can't play cause I recently upgraded computer to six core, with win 7 64 bit and more ram than I can use with crossfire vid cards

so I can only wait for this game to come out and then I get some more mech killing love

i got MW4mercs with the MTX from MekTek and im using vista 64bit. no Problem (besides the video codec)

Yup, i'm playing this one without any problems whatsoever... Win7 x64

On the side... I still need the MW4:Mercs PR1 to Mektek's 3.02a update...
I found the 3.02a to 3.02b update on an alternative download, but i just can't find the other one -.-

Always fun when the creators "recalibrate" their downloads (as their website states) hehe. (Official links are down).

Ah, there is where you went wrong... You got the 0017 version while they have a higher full install now... Looking it up and will edit this post!

Just download the 0028 (full install) and open the file in MTX (You probably need to uninstall the old installation)

Best try to update it to 0030* (newest version) before playing

I think it can just be simply updated (through the page i linked) from 0017 up, but my version is 51.03.01.0030 and works fine.

I think it just has something to do with version compatibility.
But if 0030 doesn't work, i'd indeed try to contact them after trying it.

You can also rename the mtx-file to "zip" and unzip it where you want to have it if you for whatever reason dont want to install MTX.

Waaaaaa. Why is this so hard. Why doesnt my MekTek X display anything in the Games Available Tab. Why am I not running around on Solaris in a 100 Ton Daishi?

Nope won't work and you can't update it with mektek.

The mektek install encapulates MW4 plus the MechPaks IS and Clan as well as mekteks 's own additions to the series.

Just download with the The Mekpak Console at the troubleshooting link

all u need is the Offline (manuall) installation programm from mektek called "MTX Extractor"

beginn with
Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries MTX FULL Install (version .0028)
this is the game file and after installing with mekttek extractor u can add the patch files step by step by the same way
Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries Patch (version .0028 to .0029) up to
Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries Patch (version .0029 to .0030)
Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries Patch (version .0030 to .0030a
Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries Patch (version .0030 to .0030c
all files are downloadable with an torrent client

after this u have a desktop icon, u need to edit the shortcut and adding a command into this

"***\Mechwarrior 4\Mechwarrior Mercenaries - Mektek Mekpak\MW4Mercs.exe" /gosNoVideo

and compatibility to win xp

now u can start the game

When you don't see anything, OR it says "copying file...etc." and nothing happens, or with anything else that might make it seem it's not responding...
Restart MTX and you will see it did everything, it just didn't update the UI.

There are some MekPacks out there you can install over a Retail installation.

First download Microsoft's first Point Release (or PR1):

Then Install the PR1 to MekPack 3.02a update:

And finally, install the MekPack 3.02a to MekPack 3.02b update:

NOTE: I had to get them from "dropshipcommand" as they were the only mirror for the files i could find (Mektek (temporarily) took them offline a while ago.

If you have a german version, there are separate MekPack updates for that.

Please see 1:38 and 1:41. On which version of the MekPaks are the Champion and Sha Yu playable? I clearly remember playing MekPak3 and not seeing those in action, ever. Do they even belong to a MekTek MekPak? Where do I get 'em, and how?
