I am almost a half a century old, or young, depending on your perspective or diclectic. I am suprised what it is I find myself liking in music. I do not like disressed horror of any kind. But I like harsh rough rock, some punk, indy rock,Classic R&B, funk, some hip hop, all weird Al, The Bee Gees, ETC.

I started this topic because of this,
Please let me know if you too found it strangely compelling.

I can't believe I like it, but I do.

I will show one of my all time favorites. Show me yours, if you at one time found it hard to believe you would ever have liked it (whatever you are sharing), then realised you did.

Ok guys, this post Intended mostly as a place for music, you were suprised, shocked, embarrased, that you liked. have fun

The strangest combination -ever-. Touhou's UN Owen Was Her? mixed with Eminem's Without Me. And...it somehow works.

Last but not least of my music I didn't think I'd like is Sporty-O Let Me Hit It.

What else have I got up my sleeve. I listen to all sorts of 'interesting' music, I try to keep it as varied as possible. Music dump! Go!

One of the better pieces of music to come out of Final Fantasy XI, Distant Worlds got it's own house mix that just...does it for me which is unusual. Similar to my interest in Sporty-O's Let Me Hit It.

Also, a strange combination of two final battle themes from two of the more recent Sonic the Hedgehog games (I know, I have strange musical tastes).

Something about this one in particular just screams epic and awesome to me. I'm just glad I can enjoy these songs with meh awesome Sennheiser headphones.

Um... how does one go about adding a YouTube video? Says I cannot do it on this forum? Too bad, as I have a good one, too.

You have to use the media tag, and you're limited to 2 videos per post. The media tag can be found in the third button from the top left of your posting options. The button reads Special BBCode when you hover over it. Brings up a popup with a drop down menu where you can find the media tag. No need to add dimensions, just the URL will do as the forums seem to auto fit Youtube videos in the above sizes

By the way if my music proves interesting to everyone, I'll keep posting more, I just don't want to come off as 'spammy' :)

The way I do it is hit the link symbol right under the font size button. I copy then paste the http from the vidio playing in my other tab

Normally, this wouldn't be my kind of music; I feel it's just a little bit too dramatic and loaded, and I'm not even talking about the makeup and whatever...
...Still, I used to listen to them a lot in my teen years, and nostalgia keeps me coming back.

Some of the songs are very silly and romantic, which I like.

It takes a certain kind of person to like their music, but a run that places them third on the list of certified platinum and gold albums is nothing to sneeze at, considering the #1 and #2 spots are held by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Coupled with the fact that they still draw full arenas and outdoor concerts when they tour, at their age, and play with studio precision live. Love or hate their music… you cannot deny their musicianship.

Thanks for the help, gang!

Thanks for trying to help, gang, but I guess I'm not doing a good job on the YouTube end of things?

Oh, you just need to remove the player tag.
Try typing something like this - www.youtube.com/watch?v=78D00dYOBrM
Edit, with the http header, of course.

This - I like it a lot, and usually hip hop is a big, big turn off for me.

Alright, Plodder. I'm three decades shy of your half-century, and here's a group that I really like.

It's oldschool Gregarian chantings of more modern hits. You bet your sweet *** I'm surprised it's so good.

[EDIT] Just imagine me explaining how good this is to my buddies who are rocking out to Lady GaGa. Imagine that conversation for a second.

Sorry, Plodder, but that is exactly what I did. While Rush is a great band, they are not my all time favourite band. I was pointing out a few things...

1. People either like them or hate them, and it takes a certain individual to really like them.
2. Most people would be shocked to learn how well their albums and career have gone, given that they are not part of popular culture like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, Queen, etc. Honestly, on a list of best selling bands of all time, who would think of Rush in the top tier?
3. The song I showed was an instrumental number, hardly what most people consider radio friendly.
4. These guys are in their 60's and STILL tour with new material.
5. I exposed members on the board to something from 1979 showing that they are wonderful musicial players live.

Alrighty then!!! :P
