Which Role Will you Choose?

I'm also an alt-aholic, so I hope this whole concept of chassis-loyalty doesn't ruin it for me by making me feel like I can't try everything effectively.

I guess it's gonna depend on how well the roles work.
If no one listens to the commander then I'll probably just play offense.
I hope the roles really work as well as they are suppose to.
Having them is really cool, and i'm ok with taking orders and fufilling a specific role in game.
But I would, preferably, be in command of a lance or two.

Scout or scout/harassment
Brawler
Sniper
Fire Support
The commander would take one of these roles and command in addition to his combat function.
I expect the roles in MWO will be identical, as the technology available to us is identical. That is, I expect the roles will mirror what was developed in MW4, regardless of what official roles are designated, as combat reality trumps all.

Secondary: Support
I get bored easily, so some days I'd want to mix it up in something like a Hunchback or a Centurion [from what we've seen thus far] and other days I'd be up for supporting or blunting an advance in a Catapult. Having anything more than that pilot wise would be too taxing on my available time, I suspect.

How ironic since in most MMORPGs (like fantasy-based ones), I usually role a Medic/Priest or any type of support class lol....

I've seen far too many people say "I'm a sniper!" and the moment they are asked to do recon they say "I can't do that..... I'm a sniper! I can only snipe." As with employers and their employees, if you can (and do) only 1 thing (even if well), you'll be replaced by someone who can do that (and other things) even if not as well.
Specializing is fine, but so many pilots are wrapped up in the preconceived notion of what a role is, they lock themselves into a set way of playing that does not adjust to the events on the battlefield.
Yeah, exactly. I myself, when playing on line FPS or whatever, will change my role to best suit the tactical situation. I may not be the best an any one role, but I'm good enough to cover the basics of all the roles. Plus, when you are a jack-of-all trades sorta player, you can let those other skills roll into what you are play as at the moment. If you are a fast medium, possibly equipped with Artemis designator, you could "Scout" even though are are actually playing in a Skirmisher role.

I like seeing the situation overall and building tactics for the troops, also I dont consider myself superior or liking ordering to people, but I like to have a sqadron (lance) under my lead, and also fight along their side.
If not that, I like working like a lone wolf, behind enemy lines silently assassinate enemies one by one.
I either like being part of a working team or do things alone without dragging my mates into my own danger.
Thanks for this great poll!
