How Old Are You MechWarrior?

My first experience with BT was at Virtual World in the early 90s. Blowing up close friends and relatives was thrilling to say the least. Later I found out my favorite author, Michael Stackpole, has written a lot of storyline for the BattleTech universe. Needless to say, I was hooked for life.
I've played all the MechWarrior games (still do), tried tabletop for a while but few people to play it with, and gave Mech Assault a spin. Not a fan of Mech Assault, probably cause it is the least immersing experience being 3rd person view and played with a controller.
Anyway, it has been a long time since the last BT game came out so I'm looking forward to MWO.

I'm the same age as your Firestarter.
That said, I grew up with TT games, and Battletech was just another one of them. I loved it, and the card game, and the video games.
How many people actually played the Card game?
Also, loved the books, but I've only read a few. I am hoping to buy some of the books to read again.

I hope it has more depth than a simple shooter (Battletech is not Gauntlet ) but it makes the actual fighting last a more realistic time frame. (5 hours for what should be a ~10 minute fight in the 'real' Btech world is a little too much commitment as I get older).
Thanks for this.

Played table top and MW, MW2+Mercs, MW3 and lost interest in MW4 (it sucked) imo.
I lost interest in Mech Assault.
I am eager to see a rebirth of MechWarrior as long as it doesn't go the way of the FPS and made "easier".
I wish that had incorporated aspects of all three into one with present day graphics.
