So tomorrow is Wednesday.. and the guys have been a little quiet since GDC..

So..

Q&A on Part 1 I think is up.

Or could we see something different.. maybe throw us a curve ball ..?

Part 2 (Mech Lab)..?

Maybe Mech #8 early (OK I know I am dreaming on that one.. but it would (hopefully) be (an) Awesome

What do you think that we should expect tomorrow.

Think they could have some leftover GDC goodies..?

Q&A is tomorrow. That's probably it. Part 2 of Mech Warfare has been pushed back to April.

Met with the team this morning and really pumped their tires as they have been killing it for us. There stoked for the home stretch!

Lets do the math..

Website Launch = Nov & GDC = March = 4 months

"Summer" = Maybe July ( +/- 4 months)

Yet if they are in the "homestretch..." that usually means your in the 75-90% range and need to push the final 10-25% which means the date is closer than July for "Something" they are pushing for..

Which if so.. that could mean..

1) Russ is pushing them for the homestretch before they go Closed Beta and its within weeks (if not a week) of happening

2) My timing is way off and I am reading far too much into it

3) I'm going nuts..

4) All the above.. :)

Closed Beta or Open Beta..

THAT is the question.. !

The Answer as always is 42.. which is a bit of an Enigma..

Chances are if its before "summer" then it will be closed for in the recent interview Bryan said (and could be a slip of the tongue) that open beta is in the summer

Well I agree with it being Q&A tomorrow. I don't expect closed beta to start until about May.. Also, because Mr. Murphy sucks means that we will see open beta in July. Of course if things are earlier I would be pleasantly surprised.

I hope that I am not being overly optimistic.. But I do think some kind of closed Beta (Or maybe even Alpha) is sure to occur, and I fully expect it to happen sometime between now and May. I have played and worked in Alphas.. What they put on at GDC to me looked much closer to Beta than Alpha, but still probably in Alpha.. (Especially since Garth said it was "Pre-Alpha" last night..)

I say this since according to Bryan (And I think Russ), they only got the Ammo, Heat, and a few other things installed into the game (Within a week of GDC from the looks of it). So, they are obviously not far from the Alpha build on the Battle side. Although from the game play at GDC, I would say Mech combat looks real close to being Beta.

Other than the Battle side, though I would venture a guess that they probably have yet to flesh out the tech trees, mech trees, pilot trees, mech lab, etc.. and tie that back to the Mechs. So sure they have a lot of work there to do. That said, they have been pushing this fast.. and while one group works on the game, I am sure others work on the network side, gameplay side, MMO side, store side, etc..

That's a LOT of code to debug, and work out by July.. and who better than a bunch of dedicated Closed Beta (Or Alpha) testers :)

Especially since we wouldn't cost much (and in some cases be willing to pay for access). Just saying.. (Pick me.. Pick ME.. PICK ME....)

I'd imagine (And this is mostly hope speaking) That anyone on the forums by the time Closed Beta comes out will get an invite. Anyone who joins after and everyone else will have to wait until the Open is released.

That'd be nice.

Given that garth closed to questions on time yesterday as usual then it's fairly certain to be answers today. No matter what Chuckie may dream.:)
