I would have to say it changed my fragile young mind at the time. Then, a few years later I hear about this "Mechwarrior 2" claptrap.

And now we know the rest of the story...

LOL. I watched this movie a week a go. Its the best mech movie so far i've seen. Really wish they would make another mech movie. Not like you need CGI.

This movie is terrible

Oops, my bad! I keep forgetting about off-topic,

Still I can remember this kindled my interest in giant robots fighting each other. It's how I found the local Battletech group.

Even stranger than that: At one point the group had a visitor. Someone named Richard Garfield who was introducing a new CCG. He signed a few of my cards from the decks he gave us. Of course I can't remember where they are but still.

Then the group started to focus on that instead of Battletech and I lost interest. But Mechwarrior 2 was right around the corner.

I think if I dig enough I can still find my copy that I burned to dvd. I used to own a copy of the vhs, when I was younger, I remember watching this movie for the first time and seriously loving it. I blame it for my love of mechs.

A friend of mine somehow picked up an actual DVD copy. It's like "Enemy Mine," out of print and you'll pay through the nose if you want the DVD. Thankfully the entire film is on Youtube.

This movie is to science fiction as Troll 2 is to horror, it is one of the most terribly amazing movies ever made. Why do the pilots do so much martial arts training when the best their robots can manage is wrestling moves? Do the robots reach out and flip switches as well?

I remember seeing the poster in the movie store and getting excited, then renting the movie only to be very disappointed. Imagaine a real Battletech movie made with today's technology. The warrior series come to mind...

I look at this movie and all I can think of is "Someone's gotta put more armor on those leg joints... one LRM and yer done for! Those bots move so slow even a sibko cadet could bring it down.
