I can't get MW4 to recognize the buttons on my command pad, and I have exactly the same command pad model, and the same windows version as you. I get windows to recognize it and all the buttons test correctly, and I can configure it with all the functions I like, but when testing it in notepad, it only registers each button as "space". And while trying to configure it in MW4 (ingame) it recognizes the model as a joystick, but all the buttons display either blank or "top hat left"

OP, do you know what a "throttle controller" is? Seems like it would fit your bill of wanting to be able to control throttle more immediately. or were you just thinking of your mech stopping or going to full speed instantly?!

I can't help with MW4 as I can't get it to run. The only think I can think of, off the top of my head, is try the pad without the programming software running and test it in notepad that way. Another thing you should do is make sure all your device drivers are the latest version.

NO one would operate a car or a truck or plane or a crane or a (ANYTHING) with a static 1-10 position throttle.. Its simply a carry over from the TT game. One I think needs to be removed. When my joystick comes to deadman center. Mech should stop. Simple as that.

If you want to set a cruise control, then that option should be there. But if you want to have a NORMAL throttle response that should be an option and in my opinion be default.

You mean your left-hand joystick? Or your HOTAS throttle? Or whatever axis on your gamepad? Guess what: They'll work that way. Thread closed.

IN MWLL (Based on Crytek Eng2) and in MW4.. they do NOT work this way.

YOU hit 1-0 on the keyboard and it sets your speed. OR you hit UP to go up (In increments) and go DOWN to go DOWN and Reverse.

But this is to SET the speed.

An example.. In the case of MWLL

UP on my Left joy increases speed but when I go to the deadman position it STAYS at that set speed. Which could be any postion betweew 0-10.. Depending on when I quit holding the stick up. Its not until I go DOWN does the throttle go down.. TO and THRU Reverse..

I understand the dynamic and some like it.. Some want more a natural run and walk way of doing it.. Like a foot throttle. Maybe HOTAS does work that way.. I dont have a HOTAS setup and havent.. I know the left stick on my controller does not work that way though.

Sorry if I sounded rude. Are you sure there isn't simply a different setting to map the axis to in order to get absolute throttle control? After all, there must be one or HOTAS throttles can't work the way they are supposed to. Have a look through the ActionMapper...

Workes fine without the programming software. Hadn't thought about that, thankyou
Now, all I need to do is get MW3 to work properly!

I use a X52 and rudder peddles if I set my throddle at 50% I want my mech to accelerat to 50% then stay there I dont want to keep haveing to change it stay at that speed. I would also want my rudder peddles to control my torso twist.

For the heavier mechs a aircraft throttle would be my personal preference.

For a Jenner, I would like something a bit different. The only solution that quickly comes to mind is using the angle of your feet on rudder petals to control speed. So, the hardware for that would have to be added. No input stopped and a bit of heel for reverse. With a bit of practice your feet could handle leg movement freeing your hands for torso, weapons, and any other bits mapped into your controllers.

Yea I have looked and havent found it..

Hard to use the action mapper, as you have to map, then boot up the game, etc.. and then remember what you wanted to change..

Like right now its hard for me to get good targeting from my Gamester its too sensitive and I am constantly trying to figure out what to do with it.

Part of me isn't sure its not 50% controller issue, 50% game mapping issue, and/or 100% loose nut behind the controller issue.
