Do you mean the reseen version, which looks more anime than Pikachu?

Huh. I honestly don't think about this way. In each mech I try to achieve balance, and any mech that I put under those categories I would think of as a "specialty" Mech. All my "favorite" chassis, when I think about their load outs, are built with a mix of those 3 elements, with the stronger point usually emphasized through its chassis size.

Even 'balanced' 'Mechs have a focus - for example people don't think it, but the Nova is primarily armour-based - it is low-set, almost 100% possible armour used, and based around the idea it can take hits while dealing them out.

Yeah, I know the mech should get a really proper repaint. It is one of the eldest mechs and a brilliant design (gear wise), so a little honor in a form of a proper non-anime repaint should be the least anyone could make him. :(

I usually tend to go towards maximum armor.
I trust my precision aiming to do heavy damage, even though I might be undergunned.
I trust my piloting skills to keep me out of harms way, rather than pure blind speed.
But when the crap hits the fan, armor is what makes me survive to take down 4 or maybe 5 opponents.

Speed is only good untill your opponent gets a (lucky) hit
and firepower is only good if your up 1 vs 1

Armor is staying-power

My filosophy

Edit: BTW, you can never fail a 1 vs 1 with a Nova Prime.
It eats all other mechs for breakfast in a duel.

My vote would be for character. The ride has to have character, Its an extension of the pilot so when I pick a mech its got to match the pilot inside.

This is a tough one, since the coolness isn't an option.
I've always thought that I was an armor-based sort of person. But thinking about it I realize that all my designs try to keep a balanced heat load, so that I can fire almost all my weapons continuously. So while I may seem under-gunned, I guess I'm a firepower kind of guy.

Not necessarily speed, but maneuverability. Just being fast isn't enough, I need to be able to out turn my opponent and be jump capable. Can't kill what you can't catch, so to speak.

Why is there no option for a "Blend of all 3"?

I'll bet you can't name a single 'Mech that is an exact blend of all three.

Firepower - cause I always tend to that in the triangle of balance.

Shadow Cat Prime.

Speedy - 130 kph with MASC
Firepower - Gauss Rifle, twin ER medium lasers <- outstanding for a 45-ton chassis
Armor - 7 tons of FF. Better protection than some Heavies

How about a Crab? It does well generalizing in each category.

Speed, definitely.

Maneuverability multiplies the effectiveness of your armor and weapons. Superior positioning makes you harder to hit, and him easier - not to mention the rear shots.
