Will you help? or do you just want to play?

I hope to do both , I think that people that are posting different and helpful ideas,
are likely to post concerns/problem on the forums . hopefully there will be different
forums for hardware , play and lagg or software problems , and hopefully we together
Will make the best Mechwarrior game ever!

Any other ideas?
Comments?

How will you (can we) help?

I plan on sending in vague, cryptic descriptions of non specific problems half of which will be whining about whatever chassis I haven't seen yet, and nitpicking faction insignias and colors schemes.

We each have to do our part, so... I got that one covered. You guys get the rest.

I would hope they would just account-kick people from beta who don't send in a weekly "progress report" to be evaluated by PGI. But that is probably the HR-focused me thinking there. Sadly I expect more like 90% of beta players being freeloaders just playing without contributing anything. Apart from the occasional biatching/whining ofc. As usual these days. -_-

I'll be representing the old-school Battletech fans who aren't 24/7 hardcore gamers. ;)

I'll also be trying it out with an Xbox 360 controller because the joystick I bought for MW3 doesn't work with 64-bit windows 7.

Beta Issue Report #11453:
Medium Lasers are too OP!!!11!

Potential Soulution:
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

But seriously, the more people involved with Beta, the more legit issues will come to light and be properly reported etc etc. If you had the best 2 dozen players who just played each other over and over I don't think it would be as useful to PGI

There's going to be a need for extra folks to help with things such as Team Roster set-ups, and game win/loss reporting. Having had past experience with these, I would like to think I might be able to help out along these lines. There's alot more things involved in a BETA than just actually playing in them. Of course, that will all depend on whether the Dev's need help. They may already have that covered.

That's mostly the job of an alpha tester. ;)
Sure, even beta needs to fix loads of bus and glitches, but it is more focused on the game itself, rather than its technical side.

If Alpha testers go on strike, is that an Alpha Strike ? :D

I'm going to run around with my bug spray in one hand and my poking stick on the other hand, while wearing my "FREE RASALHAGUE REPUBLIC" bandana and scream Swedenese warrior phrases of fighting spirit!

I'll test if the game runs when my sound is configured at 24 BIt, 192000 Hz.

Currently Alpha testing End of Nations and having a blast. I'd love to beta test this for simple reasons. Feedback and proper reports sent on bugs tweaks and feel of some things withing the game. Also it would be a blast.

I know you're under NDA, but are the factions at least little similar to the factions of C&C? :huh:

Also, you test that great game, so we will gladly ease you and let you stay there while we test this one. :D

I will:
  • Try to escape the maps;
  • Search for unfair or glitchy camping sites/practices and report;
  • Look for clipping problems with models and environmental features;
  • Test how the different weapons cause different kinesthetic effects on my Mech/cockpit and how they affect gameplay;
  • Check which weapon(s) exhibits the best boating profile, optimize my boat(s), then report why I came to that boating conclusion;
  • Test heatsink thresholds and find the optimal dmg/time profiles for each weapon system I have time for;
  • Try to crash the game with joint team missile boating;
  • Determine the number of teammates and circumstances needed for reproducable joint-alpha-one-shot-kills with various loadouts;
  • Examine the friendly-fire/booting system for abuse potential or accidental bootings;
  • Compare a 3rd party communications program to in-game communications tools;
  • Burn holes in Mechs with my lasers.

You can't find bugs without trying to.

While they are fun the <Censored> are just like <Censored> and the biggest thing is <Censored> so to answer your question <Censored> is all. Sorry can't discuss it man wish I could. Just know I am doing my job on it and am trying to help out the best I can.
