While I prefer the Highlander, (Highlander Burials are fun), I've had good luck with the Cyclops as well. Especially some of the post 3050 variants that sport the Gauss rifle.

Orion = Atlas Junior Weapons Loadout.

Highlander = GREAT looking mech and a cool loadout.


But had to go with the Mauler.

I have to stick with the only 3025 mech in the list. Still sported an AC 20 and in this game I can see it as a good mech with the roles coming out.

Highlander, totally cool design! Versatile load-out, just a fracking brutally efficient killing machine.

Cyclops is way under-armored for its close range load-out and the Mauler is a ranged support mech which is under-gunned (AC2's) for the job its designed for, which the highlander more than out classes in both cases.

well u don't know from wich game we would veiw this, ive only played the mechwarroir 4 seires and the mech commander 2 games , im just starting to get into battle tech (ive only played one game XD) but i would go with teh mauler cuase in teh game you can mount two ac36 (crap what the name of that weapon? ) wich when there clan do 32 (or is it 26?)dmg at 300m with 3 heat and 6sec reaload time, they only way like 16(or 18?) wich just kicks *** cuase you can mount them in the torso so you don't need your arms, take off the amour from the arms and add it to you weapns or to your torso armour! wich just makes you badd *** in the knife fight agenst a mech lighter or equal tonnage to you

That's laughable. The Highlander is a low end version of the Atlas, with jets but poorer armor and weaponry. The Mauler provides some nastly long range firepower that isn't yet available in the mechs in game so far.

While the Highlander is a good mech, it's not very interesting.
The Cyclops is like the Highlander, but instead sacrifices massive tonnage to an overpowered engine, it's firepower is decent, but it's armor is horrible for it's weight.

The Mauler at least tries to do something new. It's not perfect, but it's got a lot of upside. A supprt mech with lots of options. It'll be good to fight the clanners with when they show up. The Highlander, not so much.

I expect the Highlander to win, it's a popualr mech, but I think it doesn't really bring much new to the table.

Highlander all the way baby! That beast was well worth the price I paid for on the Mech pack back in the days when MW4 had just come out. I piloted that beastly mech and it was a blast, responsive and well armed it was just fun.

The Cyclops would be a great command mech.

The Highlander is a highly manoeuvrable weapons platform

The Mauler represents the rediscovery of lost technologies
