The Ragnarok was created specifically for the MechAssault series. All the video games are considered seperate canon, even if they do follow the canon to some extent or even rigidly.

Even if the Ragnarok was a posibility we'd have to wait around for the Blakist Jihad for it to surface, which is a long way off at this point. Then there's the whole process of somehow converting the Lava Cannon and LosTech Shields to this sort of game which isn't as actiony as MechAssault was.

Mr. Garth I understand that you have a lot of things to deal with, but the fact that you, in your high and mighty position on this website goes out of your way to even respond in a thread of this topic gives me hope. Can't you simply replace the lava gun with a rotary ac/5?

Since the Ragnarok is a non-canon mech, as in not published with a record sheet, then probably not going to see it.

It's not as simple as that. MWO starts off in the year 3049, or roughly about a year before the Clan's invasion of the InnerSphere. That means that the Ragnarok and by association the Ymir won't be designed and built by the WoB for another decade or so.

Think you can wait that long? B)

Yup. Think about this, the game came out a decade AGO. And who's still talking about it? ME! :) Plus, I highly doubt that we'll have to wait that long. I mean come on, its not like the devs will make us wait for the mechs in TRO: 3085 for the next thirty five years?

I DO however think that the plasma cannon is a better replacement for the lava gun instead of the rotary ac/5. ;)

You'll be waiting longer because that mech doesn't exist! Also the Plasma Cannon doesn't come until 3069 and I doubt we'll get level 3 tech any time soon.

I'll say to you what I would say to all those "Clanners" out there. Learn to love the IS mechs because that's all you're gonna be getting for awhile.

Jacob, I'm seeing dozens of people trying to let you down nicely, when they could be a lot more blunt about it.

Let that non-canon wanna-be "mech" slip away from your thoughts. Think about a real mech, like the Hunchback, or the Catapult. Think of all the ways you can use one of those canon mechs to punish your enemies. You will feel cleaner tomorrow for having done so, and your karma will not cause you to be reborn as a furry.

I love the Nova

Glad to see I am not the only one. The Nova has rarely seemed to get the respect it deserves. Then again maybe that was just my experience of people laughing at me instead of the mech when I would drop with one. That thing was a beast in netmech though with its low profile and ability to load up on good laser configs as long as you could use jump jets well.

I would'nt mind seeing the Ragnarok in the game. even if the lava cannon dosn't make sense at lest i get to shoot at ALOT of overheated mechs :P besides what else do the Ragnarok have besides it`s BIG gun. it dosn't have much else kick to it. Does it?

Okay, I'm surprised this thread has gone on for this long, honestly. Look, this 'mech will never be in the series, simply because of two reasons:
1) There is a minimal demand for it.
2) It's not a canon 'mech.

Because of those two reason alone, it is extremely unlikely that it will be included in the game.

to put it bluntly, the Ragnarok has less chance of getting in than an LAM. If you want to know the chances of seeing an LAM, you'll probably see it when hell freezes over, and probably not then either.

I know alot of people don't like MechAssault due to its unrealisticness. I don't either, but ever since I've used the Ragnarok I've been in love with the mech ITSELF ever since. The lava gun can be replaced with a rotary ac/5 or something. But somehow, someway, would it be possible to include this mech someday in the game? It is the coolest mech I've seen.

I love this. TBH the canon is so self-contradictory and by modern standards nonsensical (why on earth do we need to add targeting computers -- oh yeah, that would've been a big deal in the 80s when BT came out) that I'd be just as fine seeing the Ymir added.

So do you support or oppose? You're giving a general sense that you support, but I just want to be sure. :)

Personally I think the design looks clunky...We've already got Atlases for that job. But I wouldn't argue with it as an option...aside from the lava cannon (lava...), the fact that it's a Jihad mech (or would be if MA were ever considered cannon) and that it was a Blakest mech anyway without them as a playable faction.

As far as speeding up the timeline I'm actually curious but why are people assuming this? MWO doesn't need to visit the Dark Ages or anything, if it pans out another MW game can be set in any other timeline out there. People are acting like this will be the last MW game ever.
