Surely I'm not the only one who thinks Ragnarok confirmation would be the greatest April 1st joke of all time?

I think that Ragnarok would be a viable design for CBT if it was, y'know, canon from the start.
- Plasma Cannon
- Twin Gauss Rifles +2
- MRM20
- 10 DHS
- 17.5t Endo Steel
- Blue Shield PFD
- XL 270 Engine (51kph)

I totally would dig that.

Would work better if it drop the MRM-20 and use LRM-10 + artemis and ammo.
Then extra ton can pad the Gauss ammo. Then it would look like a solid sniper to use against PPC boats, thanks to Blue Shield.

Someone please lock this thread, delete it, and format the disk that it was contained on. Please. Putting a Ragnarok in Mechwarrior would be like putting a Justin Bieber song in a Beatles album. Abominations and dreams come true should never be mixed.

Oh, sure, let's add the Lava Gun with legs 20-30 years before it is said to be released in the games considered by 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999(repeating)% of BattleTech fans to be a bad pipe dream. While we're at it, let's toss in Gundams, AT-ATs, and Metal Gears - after all, their status in the BattleTech canon is pretty much equal to the Ragnarok's

Having played a limited amount of Mech Assault, I knew about the lava cannons, and that was bad enough but... energy shields?

It is like they were trying to parody BT/MW.

As for the Ragnarock, aside from the fact that it doesn't exist in BT (MA is not canon according to the current canon policy; that's fact, not just fan opinion), it doesn't bring anything to the table. It doesn't really look much like a BT mech in the first place, and if you managed to fix that, you'd end up with something not notably different from a dozen other designs.

Why do people keep asking about Mechs, and, Mech variants, that did not come out until after the Clans Invaded? Especially since the designers said the game was going to start at 3049.

No, because even if it was canon, the Word of Blake wouldn't have made it yet. LOL, mechassault, - it's a fun game but it's so comical. 3 Wolf Dragoons invade the Planet of Hesperus II, I mean ***

Basing your love on the perfomance from Mech Assault, the mech could as well be a piece of junk in an actual game.

I know alot of people don't like MechAssault due to its unrealisticness. I don't either, but ever since I've used the Ragnarok I've been in love with the mech ITSELF ever since. The lava gun can be replaced with a rotary ac/5 or something. But somehow, someway, would it be possible to include this mech someday in the game? It is the coolest mech I've seen.

wrong time period, mech doesn't actually exist. It is also a totally retarded concept.

I got nothing against the Ragnarok. Mechassault DID introduce me to the Battletech universe after all. But It just won't make it in for all the reasons previously stated. Plus, even though Mechassault isn't canon I do remember Clan Hell's Horses using the Ymir variants in phantom war. Granted the HPG network going down doesn't happen until the thirty-one hundreds. And if we're talking about a real time timeline we're all going to be shriveled prunes by the time we see a Ragnarok in MW:O.

If I have to wait for mechs in TRO: 3055 to come out five years from now, I'll probably not play this game much by then. No offense.

The fact that PGI is working with Randall Bills from Catalyst Game Labs in order to keep the game roughly lore accurate and Battletech-like is hardly a secret.

You don't need to play the game if you don't want to. Though in fairness, you don't need to wait until 3055 to get 'mechs from that TRO. 3055 TRO lists 'mechs that were taken into service between 3051 and 3055.

Master unit list is the best place to search for exact dates: http://www.masterunitlist.info/

There were lots of 3055 TRO 'mechs in MW2:Mercs for example, and that game had climax in battle of Luthien (battle of Tukayyid was featured in closing cinematic).

Can anyone explain why people even care about posting in this thread if they really don't want to see the mech in the game? I know why, its because they're wanting people to think that they won't use it! And then when the mech DOES get released into the game, they'll get their hands on it as quick as they can!

Ragnarok = 100 Ton version of the Loki (with the Thor's missile tube). If you are looking to see some combat it would probably be just as quick to get out and walk.
