Actually the Shadowhawk, Battlemaster, Thunderbolt and locust aren't a problem and they can use the original assets because Harmony Gold doesn't own the rights to them (the crusader maybe all right as well but I'm not 100% on that one). Basicly the stuff from Dougram or Crusher Joe is Ok.
There isn't any reason we can't see the Shadowhawk in the mix, and if it is in the mix it's a strong contender for my starting mech aswell,
My personal favourite is the Crusader, the quintessential workhorse heavy, capable of long range support or close attack. It it is also a tricky machine to run with a very unforgiving heat curve so it sounds like a nice challenge.
From the mechs revealed so far I'm probably going to start with a Dragon and a Commando.
Edit. I've gone a checked the UNseen/Reseen mechs that aren't involved in the Harmony Gold dispute are;
Locust
Wolverine
Shadowhawk
Griffin
Thunderbolt
Battlemaster
Scorpion
Goliath

So I'd go for the centurion.
That said I also like the heavy class (Not so much speed but lots of fire-power and durability.) , but none of the Heavies so far are to my taste.
