Neither one. I will wait until we get almost all mechs and then decide. If a proper Liao design (not a Raven) comes in, or, hopefully, a Shadow Hawk (a man can have dreams, that will maybe fulfill later on), I'll jump right on top of them.

Actually the Shadowhawk, Battlemaster, Thunderbolt and locust aren't a problem and they can use the original assets because Harmony Gold doesn't own the rights to them (the crusader maybe all right as well but I'm not 100% on that one). Basicly the stuff from Dougram or Crusher Joe is Ok.

There isn't any reason we can't see the Shadowhawk in the mix, and if it is in the mix it's a strong contender for my starting mech aswell,

My personal favourite is the Crusader, the quintessential workhorse heavy, capable of long range support or close attack. It it is also a tricky machine to run with a very unforgiving heat curve so it sounds like a nice challenge.

From the mechs revealed so far I'm probably going to start with a Dragon and a Commando.

Edit. I've gone a checked the UNseen/Reseen mechs that aren't involved in the Harmony Gold dispute are;

Locust
Wolverine
Shadowhawk
Griffin
Thunderbolt
Battlemaster
Scorpion
Goliath

With Mods, and double heat sinks and a XL motor.. An Awesome can get up to MED Mech speeds..

Can't wait to get my hands on the game and the Mech Lab to start tweaking

Catapult me thinks. Decent maneuverability, great at all ranges.

Gotta go with the Dragon for the mix of weapons. But hoping for Annihilator, Blood Asp, and Spector cause I love 'em.

My Centurion will be black with gold lines and if I can with the "wing" of the head and the "shield" of the left arm red

I don't think I'll be able to afford it as my first mech, but Awesome has the best primary config (AWS-9E). I'll probably end up stripping the weapons off a light and redesigning it if the mechlab allows me to do that at first blush.

I'm prefer the balance of the medium class ... speed, hitting power and durability.

So I'd go for the centurion.

That said I also like the heavy class (Not so much speed but lots of fire-power and durability.) , but none of the Heavies so far are to my taste.

I'm not exactly sure what this poll is, NARComan. I voted for the Atlas on the assumption that you were looking for the most fearsome Mech out there. When I played TT I watched an Atlas crush six Mechs in the light to heavy class in one session. The pilots were all comparable and the players solid tactical thinkers. Being able to dish out punishment at the same time as absorb it was vital to that fight. I don't exactly know how this will all pan out when the game begins, but I do have that lasting memory.

Centurion, it has a nice balanced mix of firepower, armor and speed.

Yup! Same here...
Unfortunately, it is the ugliest of all MWO-redesigns. Just my opinion.

I love the Atlas, though in MW games i usually do better in medium 'mechs. Once in an Atlas i feel i'm invincible ;)

Is the MadCat even being considered for initial launch? Sorry if this has already been asked. Just curious, cause I had a lot of fun w/that mech.

Of the listed mechs, I have to go with the Catapult. It's a hard choice as I also like the Awesome, Centurion and the Atlas. I can't wait to see what other mechs they intend to rollout.
