This is, while tongue in cheek, a serious issue. We get multiple threads from people who just stumble upon the forums and just start looking around and all ask the same questions. Or, They find a issue or if a subject is not the first topic in the threads, they create their own, not realizing, or perhaps caring, that there is a search function. Look at the hardware threads, how many "what computer am I going to need to play this game" posts do we need? Or posts about whether a certain mech will be in the game. There is a game timeline, with that, people need to do some BASIC research and people need to think about what they are asking before they commit to a post. I have suggested to the moderators placing the ""New Players Start Here (Pretty Please!)" thread outside of all of the thread sections at the very top of the forums. How hard can it be to make their job a tad easier. Rants like this will subside and that is a good thing.

Unless you had an autodirect and it was in 3" high letters they would still miss it/ignore it.

HAH!! I should have added another question about why people selected what they did. Has anybody looked at the results? FUNNY!! I hope people are just being as tongue in cheeky as I am being. If they are serious, I am scared!

Wanted to Vote for the "Posting Ettiquette" and "New Players Start Here" but that option was not available. As for your concern with the poll results not many people can avoid the smart remark when you put it so nicely in front of them :)

Just make the search box fill half of the browser, 1/4 of the screen filled with animated gifs of flashing arrows pointing to the search box, and the other half for content.

We'll only need 1/4 of the threads we have if people used the search box anyway.

Edit: I voted for everything except yes and no.

So I heard the Clans won't be at launch?! Does that mean I have to pay for my MadCat? Btw where can I download the game? I've seen gamplay so it must be out! How much does the game cost? How many light sabres can I fit onto my gundam? Can we use different cores on our mecha? Hawken looks more impressive.

Grimm saw all this and decided to straighten me out! All hail the mighty Grimm

This is why I don't condone the hatred towards "necro" threads.

If someone adds to the discussion, or bumps it as relevant to their interest, why not allow that instead of forcing people to create a new post on the subject.

Less posts on similar or same subjects = less to trawl through for everyone.
