I just moved back to the Twin Cities after being away for 17 years or so and have not yet found a game to get my BT on. Village games is the closest but it's not very exciting as it's just random battles all the time instead of a nice solid line of events. Still looking for a group here....

Started playing Mechwarrior: Living Legends. Great mod for Crysis Wars but it's missing the campaign side that i hope MWO will have :)

I still occassionally play on a MUSH called 'The Frontier Lands'.

I recommend use of the THUD client to play the game, as it makes it much simpler.

It plays a lot like a real-time variant of the tabletop game, too... like a low-tech version of what MWO seems to be about to become... but limited to whatever single map is currently 'in play'.

Takes a while to really get into the game, though, and there's a bit of a learning curve, as well.

I can easily imagine that people who've grown up with MMOs wouldn't really enjoy this game.

Have played MW2 (Vanilla, Mercs and GBL), MW3 &PM, MW4 &BK (and Mektek and NBT-HC), MC & DM, MC2 (and the mods), MA1&2, Mechforce (Amiga), MegaMek and the tabletop game in several different Eras; and I have to say that MWLL is where I am getting my daily fix of all things Battletech!

Best advise I can give to anyone whose computer can handle it is grab Crysis Wars for pennies, DL the Mod....it's the best Battletech Sim since MW3, and IMHO the best MW game so far (as it's combines arms, 'mechs, ASF, VTOLs, Battle Armour, Support Tanks, MBTs and Arty on all the field at any one time 8) ).

got instant ninja-recruited into House Marik, the first lesson I learned was not to shoot at legs and heads ^^
because of honor and stuff ... interesting that I still remember that
