And I think you're missing the fact that the Mech Lab as per the Dev Blog last week indicates you can make a JN7-F from the JN7-D. <.<

Well no **** Sherlock. The JR7-F is a canon variant of the JR7-D and has been for well over 25 years. We didn't need a Mech Lab to do that.

If there is one thing i dislike its nerfing.
Every ******* mmo is cursed with the freaking nerf calls and cycles (nerfspiral).
Balance ist not equality - balance is when a class, skill, weapon is logical in the game context and has its role!

Damn game not even out and someone is already crying out nerf. Can we please find out where these people live and tar and feather them before boxing them up in a crate and shipping them to some deserted island.

The rules and game system of Battletech has been out for a long long time. As for the Jenner it was and always will be an effective combat mech. Its cons are of course Speed/Good firepower to weight/Jumpjets... This combo makes it an excellent scout/pursuit mech. However it also does not have the staying power to survive a long term slugging match of any kind.

Now for the Atlas... not much to say about it its an Atlas. aka slow, heavily armored and loaded for bear. In a ranged fight the poor Jenner is just so much scrap metal. However Any Atlas that should be foolish enough the allow 2 or more Jenners or other mechs of equale speed will be seeing shots going through its rear armor into its gryo and engine.

Odds on an ecounter like that is normaly very low. as no Assault mech would be out without suppport from heavies and there own light/medium scout lances.

So lets forget about the cries for nerf and just play the damn game as its ment to be..

I would say something about Obvious Troll being Obvious right about now, but I'm not so sure now...

The perfect nerf would be allowing these light mechs to be punted across the map by assault mechs.

BTW - throwing 10 of these at someone at once is hilarious, once you get a life size warhammer built for Mech-Con, I fully expect it to launch these at people.

Jenner needs a buff... I propose increased speed.

300km/h would do.

Since Jenners have such little armor, it's easy to strip off it's weapons. A weaponless jenner is useless and it's unfair for those guys with armor and lots of guns. This way we can ram into our enemies at 300 km/h and cause massive damage, after which our center torso will take so much damage that our engines will go critical and cause a massive explosion along with the enemy mech. Since we lose our mech and they lose their mech, it's fair. Also, there is a very big weakness to this, if our legs get shot, we can't ram into you... so it's totally fair.

To be honest, the Jenner in the TT game tends to be one of the more OP mechs. My most recent group had to mandate a max of two Jenners per side because people were filling up their entire tonnage with Jenners and keeping them moving at max speed to get behind enemy mechs. Not saying I think they should be nerfed at all but in TT they can be readily abused more than any other mech I have seen as they have a perfect storm. Decent armor for its size, powerful weapons, very fast speed, and it jumps.

Yes, Jenners are great in TT, and they are great in the card game.
They should also be great in MWO.

They will still explode, if you shoot them.

Eh, justice imo.
There's a reason why the Jenner was a hero of the Kentares Massacre.

Also, JR7-F: 7/11/5 (118.8km/h, 150m jump) 7 tons of armour, 10 heat sinks, 4 medium lasers.
Yeah, it can run and fire the lasers with no heat buildup.

As for being able to take on an Atlas:
Eh, I could do that in MW4Mercs with a light 'mech as well.
So that really doesn't say too much.

Ok... confirmed by the engineers... we slowed the Jenner down 35% and slowed the rotational speed of the torso down by 25%. How does it play for you now?

Haha, that's a good one.
Torso-twist on a Jenner.

The JR7-F is a canon variant of the JR7-D and has been for well over 25 years.

Which is, of course, WRONG.
The JR7-D is a variant of the JR7-F. (JR7-F was first produced in 2784, the JR7-D in 2785)

Because you can totally make a CPLT-K2 with the CPLT-C1 chassis given what we know of the MW:O MechLab, amirite?

If you're going to act the smartass, at least know what you're talking about.

4 MLas at 3 heat each = 12 heat + 2 heat for running = 14 heat, sink 10, puts you at 4 heat for the turn. That's not no heat build up. =P

No it can't. 4 ML = 12 Heat, Running = 2 Heat, 10 SHS only dissipates 10. Net heat: +4.

Well this is a bit previous, isn't it?
lets play the game before we cry nerf.

And lets spell please with the appropriate amount of letters. And, in fact, the appropriate letters.

The CPLT-C1 probably doesn't have enough energy weapon hardpoints for conversion to a CPLT-K2. The JR7-D to JR7-F conversion just requires the removal of the SRM-4 and it's ammunition, and the addition of three tons of armor, which is perfectly feasible from what we know of the mechlab so far...

That said, I think its explicit mention makes it likely that it will be an in-game stock variant.

...that was kind of my point. I figured the "amirite" and the tone of the post to which I was responding would make the sarcasm evident. I suppose I was in error.
